Right now, Matt Riddle is one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions with Pete Dunne, and is defending with Timothy Thatcher who is standing in for Dunne. Despite this, he has the potential to be a major singles star. He has fought for the NXT Championship in the past, but was unsuccessful against Adam Cole. It will only be a matter of time before he wins singles gold in WWE, as he has the confidence that is important for a wrestler. He is destined to join RAW or Smackdown and become a star, but will he succeed there?
Matt Riddle Feels He Can Be A Star Anywhere In Wrestling
During an interview with Pro Wrestling Sheet, Matt Riddle would be asked is he feels he has the ability to be a star on RAW & Smackdown. He would reply with the following.
“I think I have the potential to be one of the top guys anywhere. It’s just if people see it, you know? I feel like because of the things I’ve said, the controversies I’ve caused, I feel like some people might be hesitant on working with me or might be standoffish. But I’ll tell you, if there’s anybody who’s ever been in a locker room with me and has actually worked with me or talked to me, it’s a breeze.”
Matt Riddle was reported to have backstage heat after calling out people like Goldberg & Brock Lesnar on Twitter. Despite those reports, he still would go on to win gold in NXT shortly after, proving that it didn’t matter with the people who actually have power.
The Sky Could Be The Limit For Riddle
Riddle will be on the main roster before we know it, and could potentially be WWE Champion. His charisma lets him get over without even speaking, and his antics with Dunne & Thatcher have been nothing short of hilarious. Add in incredible matches with anyone he matches up against, be it Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, or Finn Balor, and you have a star in the making. He isn’t someone who exactly vibes with everyone, but his skills are absolutely undeniable.
Could you see the cocky ex-MMA fighter be successful on RAW & Smackdown? Will his bad attitude lead to him getting a role similar to what EC3 got? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
