AEW Dark begins with a voiceover from Taz explaining to Excalibur up front that he is not going to get into any specifics with his relation to Cage or his win at the Casino Ladder Match. With that said, we roll on like normal, which is to say another supersized Dark. We begin with John Silver and Alex Reynolds, the resident underlings of the Dark Order coming out for their first match in a good little while. Now would seem like a good time for them to get a win but maybe next week – they’re facing off with the Natural Nightmares, Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall tonight!
Alex Reynolds & John Silver vs. The Natural Nightmares
QT and Reynolds start, QT with an arm wringer, tag to Dustin and a Double Russian Legsweep puts him down. Reynolds with a knee to the gut, hits the ropes but Dustin takes him over with a deep arm drag! Uppercut to the face. Wristlock, tag to QT, whip, QT with a right hand to the gut, jumping knee from Dustin, and QT with a flip senton! But as he gazes out to the stands, he sees Allie aka the Bunny, holding QT’s apple? She stares him down and takes a bite. It seems to drive QT to hit the ropes for a series of shoulder blocks, goes up top and hits a double axe handle! He leaves the ring and locks eyes with Allie.
Brandi is trying to get him refocused, he turns around to see John Silver leap off the apron for a big clothesline! Takes him into the ring, cover for a 2 count. Silver tagged in off-screen, hits the ropes for a WICKED European Uppercut! Tag to Reynolds who batters QT, isolating him in the heel corner now. QT tries to fight out but a hammerlock clothesline puts him down! Takes QT to the corner, tag to Silver. Reynolds pops QT up into a knee lift from Silver for a nearfall! Silver with some roundhouse kicks to the chest but QT is firing up! Exploder Suplex sends him flying! Reynolds tags himself in and tries to cut QT off but he escapes for the hot tag!
Dustin with a series of clotheslines, Dustin Uppercut, Manhattan Drop into a Running Bulldog! Silver rushes in, eats the Snap Powerslam! Dustin gets Reynolds up, eats a knee to the gut, and a forearm, shoots him to the ropes but Dustin counters a back body drop with a Canadian Destroyer! QT tagged in during that exchange, hits Reynolds with a Diamond Cutter for the victory!
Winners: The Natural Nightmares
A solid win for the Nightmares and it seems like QT Marshall has an angle of his own now. Presumably it’s just setting up for a Nightmares/Butcher & Blade feud down the line but kinda interesting all the same.
