AEW Dynamite continues. Amazingly we get a video of PAC from the Death Triangle. He says the world must’ve thought they were safe from the Death Triangle but they were wrong. He laments having to stay at home for now. Says Orange Cassidy tonight will get his head kicked off by Rey Fenix. Tells him to consider himself marked. Orange Cassidy makes his way out – Rey Fenix tries another dive kick from off-screen but Cassidy avoids it by simply stepping forward. He casually makes his way into the ring as Fenix is dismayed.
Orange Cassidy vs. Rey Fenix
Cassidy ducks a clothesline, hops over a leg sweep and there’s the hands in the pockets! Fenix shoves him, Cassidy sidesteps, leaps to avoid a low blow, somehow double legs him with his hands in his pockets! Fenix springs off the second rope to his feet but a dropkick takes him to the floor! Fenix shoves the camera, obviously furious. Strips off his shirt. Cassidy just posing in the ring waiting for him. Fenix back inside, couple of leapfrogs, Cassidy with an Oklahoma Roll, exchange of crucifixes, Cassidy with a chinlock and thumbs up before going for another one, 1 count. Fenix with a leap frog into a double foot stomp to the back! Fenix hoists Cassidy up for a Powerbomb, bounces him off the ropes but Cassidy turns it into a Code Red for a nearfall!
Fenix to the ramp, gets Cassidy with a roundhouse kick, runs the ramp for a big springboard legdrop! Close nearfall off that one! Fenix hooks both arms and cranks his head back! Commercial break, match continues in the inset. Fenix choking him in the ropes until he falls to the floor. Batters him around ringside and smacks him as they re-enter the ring. Hooks Cassidy’s arm around the bottom rope. Hits the ropes, baseball slide seems to send him flying into the camera! Hooks him in the corner, chop to the chest but Cassidy is trying to no sell… until Fenix just pounds him until he drops! Charges in the corner but Cassidy blocks, fights back, Superman Punch takes him to the mat! Cassidy’s chest is red and broken out here. Fenix rolls to the outside, Cassidy catches him with a Tope Suicida, throws him into the ring and goes right up top, Crossbody! Hits the ropes, Around-The-Round DDT for a nearfall!
Cassidy goes up top, Fenix cuts him off! Wants a superplex, Cassidy flips him to the mat! Huge Diving DDT!!! Veeeery close nearfall off of that one! Orange wants an Alabama Slam of some sort, Fenix escapes to the apron but Orange with a forearm. Cassidy pulls him to the top rope, Fenix hooking both arms! Cassidy locks his hands in the pockets to block!!! Headbutt to the jaw of Fenix! But Rey flips above him anyway and nails a Sunset Flip Bomb for a nearfall!! Sets him up top again, tries for the Black Fire Driver but Cassidy with a Victory ROll counter for a nearfall! Fenix rolls through for a DDT but Cassidy counters with a crazy Air Raid Crash for a nearfall! This is wild. Kip Sabian comes out with a ladder and sets it up on the ramp, climbs atop it and poses. The ref is distracted, Fenix with a low blow on Cassidy, roll-up to setup a Fenix Cutter for the victory!
Winner: Rey Fenix
Kip Sabian mocks Cassidy, Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian come out to mess with him. They act like they’re just gonna leave but then they tip the ladder over and send Sabian crashing to the floor! Jimmy Havoc rushes out and a big brawl kicks up! Fenix with a double jump Corkscrew Moonsault onto the whole group! He didn’t end up going far enough on this one this one and didn’t get caught very well, Colt Cabana rushes out for a Springboard Moonsault of his own! Best Friends come out and TOSS Orange Cassidy waaay up in the air for a Senton onto everyone! Cassidy staggers back into the ring, and leans against the ladder on the ramp with a weak thumbs-up. Boy that was quite the preview for that ladder match!
