Another episode of AEW Dynamite is on again here this evening, and it’s the go-home show to AEW Double Or Nothing! Two men who will both be involved in the Stadium Stampede match this Saturday square off tonight, as Matt Hardy goes up against Sammy Guevara! You can expect the same kind of live coverage tonight as always, including previews of everything announced in advance! And as usual with Dynamite that accounts for a lot, so let’s get started!
Sammy Guevara vs. Matt Hardy
This one has actually been teased for some time. Obviously Sammy is in the Inner Circle and Matt’s part of the Elite these days, so they’re both on different sides of an intense stable war. But Matt’s made it a point to call out Sammy specifically on a number of occasions, referring to him as a false God. Which is his way of saying that the Spanish God can’t even speak Spanish, a joke that Sammy has helpfully leaned into every chance he’s gotten since then. And of course, during the Street Fight a few weeks ago, Matt ran over Sammy in a golf cart, which has remained a viral hit since then.
This was followed up last week with Sammy rushing out in a neck brace only to get dropped onto his head with a particularly brutal looking Twist of Fate. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Sammy Guevara, to say the least. And tonight’s probably not going to be too different, because he’ll be dealing with a very enraged Matt Hardy by all accounts. The Inner Circle took a baseball bat to Matt Hardy’s prized drone and close confidant Vanguard 1, utterly demolishing the poor thing, much to Matt’s devastation.
He will no doubt be looking to take that anger out on Sammy Guevara tonight. In most situations I’d think that perhaps the other members of the group would be around. Given the circumstances though they will probably be avoiding ten man sprawling brawls unless necessary. (I think part of the point of the Stadium Stampede is that it’s a very big and open area, making it a much safer place for this kind of thing and they will probably be far apart for most of it, I imagine they’ll be splitting up early on.) And in a fair fight, for sure, Matt Hardy over.
