While most would recognize Degeneration X members Shawn Michaels & Triple H together as either one of the most controversial and influential teams of the 90’s, or two of the greatest rivals of the 2000’s, they now help to run NXT. Triple H is the mastermind behind the brand, and Michaels pitches in as a trainer in the WWE Performance Center. They would make a rare appearance on NXT TV this week, with it likely being related to the major announcement William Regal teased on this weeks episode of The Bump.
Degenration X Is In The House
We would see Triple H and Michaels sitting backstage, and they would announce that with William Regal absent this week, he asked them to make a major announcement for the NXT brand. They would get sidetracked speaking about how the 25th anniversary of Triple H on Smackdown was a mess, and as Triple H would begin to speak about the 25th anniversary of the first In Your House PPV, another DX member would appear.
Road Dogg would pop up from behind the monitors, dropping an armful of DX glow-sticks on his old partners. Road Dogg would mention he was at the first In Your House PPV, facing Razor Ramone while Shawn faced Jeff Jarrett that night in 1995. Triple H was the only one without a memorable match at the event, having faced Henry Godwinn, which lead to him getting his face shoved into pig crap.
NXT Takeover: In Your House Coming June 7th
Finally getting to the point, with everyone locked in their houses, Triple H intends to give fans something to look forward too. On June 7th, NXT will have it’s next PPV event live on the WWE Network, we will see NXT Takeover: In Your House. With NXT Takeover Tampa having been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and most of the planned matches being done as part of NXT TV, it will be an interesting card for sure. Wanting this to be over, with Road Dogg rambling one about Triple H being covered in crap, he would call for Balors music to play to get the next match on NXT started.
This will be the first In Your House branded PPV since February 1999, with the last event being St. Valentine’s Day Massacre: In Your House. The legacy will now be reborn with NXT. What matches do you think we will see on June 7th? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
