AEW Dark continues. A new, extremely small woman named Red Velvet (introduced as being straight out of your momma’s kitchen) teams up with Kenzie Paige against a very interesting team to be sure… Allie aka the Bunny teams up with Brandi Rhodes, who is having her first wrestling match in like half a year. This is pretty clearly a match set up by QT Marshall to try and make for a bit of a bonding exercise. There’s a handshake in the middle before the bell but as they’re starting to get settled Allie nails Paige with an elbow out of nowhere!
Brandi Rhodes & Allie vs. Red Velvet & Kenzie Paige
As the bell rings Allie gets Paige with a kick, drives her into the corner, stomps her into the buckles! Brandi looks remarkably unimpressed from the apron. Allie with a chop, pulls her to the center, knee to the gut. And a second one. Hits the ropes, running knee lift to the face! Allie takes a bow and blows a kiss to Brandi. She pulls Paige up but Kenzie fighting back, knife edge chops and big closed fists! Takes her to the corner, tag to Velvet who brings Allie out, chop to the chest, shot ducked, Allie hooks the front facelock for a very crisp swiveling Neckbreaker!
Takes her to their corner, Brandi tags in and actually whips Allie into Velvet for a double team move, Brandi snapmares Velvet into position for a kick to the head for 2! Pulls Velvet up to her feet, Red breaks out with a forearm, Brandi reverses a whip, boot to the gut, goes down to her knees and nails her with an uppercut! She hoists her up, but Velvet escapes behind her and throws Brandi into Allie, knocking her to the floor and Allie is pretending she tweaked her ankle to get QT’s sympathy. Meanwhile Velvet nails Brandi with a dropkick, cover for 2. Paige tags in, double back elbow for a cover for 2. Paige pulls Brandi up, snap suplex, another cover for 2. Kenzie with a side headlock, Brandi fights up to her feet and hits a Jawbreaker, as Allie is yelling at Dustin about how she’s hurt and can’t make the tag.
Kenzie whips Brandi to the corner but she knocks down Velvet on her way over and makes a comeback, Slingblade! Velvet in with a thrust kick to the midsection though and Allie HEROICALLY up on the apron. Brandi with a big boot to Velvet and a spear to Kenzie but Allie tagged herself in and the ref has to force Brandi off the cover. Allie steps with ease into the ring and puts a foot on Kenzie’s chest for the arrogant finish!
Winner: Allie & Brandi Rhodes
Pretty funny finish there. Allie’s shtick ain’t bad.
