AEW Dark continues. Next up, Jimmy Havoc will be taking on Griff Garrison, a long-haired guy whose graphic makes him look like some C-Verse renders I’ve seen. In live action he looks impossibly like a heavyweight version of Jungleboy.
Griff Garrison vs. Jimmy Havoc
To begin we have a censor bleep as one of the two men yelled at each other, not sure who. I guess it’s an easy guess though. Havoc with a lock-up takes Garrison into the ropes, double palm thrusts to the gut, side headlock cinched in. He grabs at the fingers and wrenches the wrist, singles out a hand and stomps Griff’s elbow. More bleeping occurs as Havoc continues twisting that arm, battering shot to the arm. Top wrist lock, Griff rolls through and reverses! Havoc wants the ropes but Griff keeps him in the center. Jimmy reverses into a big forearm to the face! Takes him to the corner, Griff reverses a whip, charges, Havoc with a double footstomp to the chest takes him to the mat!
Jimmy takes Griff to the outside, and throws him into the barricade! Puts him against the ringpost, Griff evades the knife edge chop and Jimmy nearly breaks his hand against the ring post! Garrison with a few uppercuts but Havoc fights back with a shot to the gut and sends him into the barrier again. Throws him into the ring and back into the ring. Grabs the luscious locks as he wrenches on his chin and smashes his face into the mat. Griff fights his way up with forearms, takes him into the corner, charges but a Japanese Arm Drag into the buckles! And he follows up with a snap suplex that lands his legs in the ropes as well! Grinds his boot against his face and a sharp kick to the back!
Grinds his thumbs into his eyes. Digging into the neck, takes him into the corner and is choking him until the ref forces the break. He takes him up top leading to a Rolling Death Valley Driver, into a sliding spinning elbow! Acid Rainmaker, Griff escapes it, takes him to the corner for a big leaping clothesline and then again in the opposite corner, this sets up a Discus Forearm for a nearfall! Garrison charges, Havoc with a high boot to the face, Acid Rainmaker and a Send The Sorrow DDT get the victory.
Winner: Jimmy Havoc
Garrison is an interesting one for sure but I don’t know if you can just HAVE a bigger Jungleboy around without it being an angle of some sort. And as of now the resemblance is way too apparent to ignore.
