WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues. We’ll be seeing Lacey Evans vs. Sonya Deville later on, but first… Miz and Morrison are stalking out waiting for Braun Strowman in the parking lot, watching on from their limo I guess. They talk up how Braun’s about to go through hell. Braun casually leaves his car and rolls his bag through the parking lot and we fade to black, I guess this will be a show-long thing. Miz speaks to the camera saying everyone knows what it’s like to deal with annoying co-workers. But ever since they challenged Braun Strowman to a handicap match all of their co-workers and everyone watching have been asking why they would do that. Hilariously they talk up what massive underdogs they are in this 2-on-1 match but they vow to prove everyone wrong.
They say what we’re about to see, some might call immature, low brow. But as a wise man once said, this is how we do it, it’s Friday night. And they promise that by the time we get to Backlash, they’ll have made Strowman’s life a living hell. We then see footage of Strowman pouring a drink only for it fizz into a big explosion right in his hands. Miz and Morrison celebrate big with Miz making cracks about “WASH THESE HANDS”. Meanwhile Strowman is growling and seething like an animal.
Shorty G is backstage being interviewed but Mojo Rawley appears out of nowhere and looks like a giant next to him. Says he apologizes to the little man but there are far more important things to discuss, like his boy Gronk tragically getting robbed of his 24/7 title. So, he tells Shorty G his interview just got cut short. Laughs and says it’s funny, because he’s short. Shorty mocks him for thinking he’s funny, but when he turns around, Cesaro and Shinsuke are there. The three of them jump him, until Kofi Kingston and Big E come in to make the save. Now, Lacey Evans is making her way to the ring – when Sonya Deville jumps her from behind! Commercial break.
Sonya Deville vs. Lacey Evans
We come back to a match beginning. Lacey with a snapmare. Sonya with a waistlock. Lacey reverses, Sonya with a back elbow, waistlock takedown. Sonya with a kick to the gut, whip to the corner. Lacey evades to the apron, forearm, legsweep. Pullover Elbow Drop for a 1 count. Lacey takes Sonya into the corner, working over her arm for the length of the count. Sonya with a body shot, whips her but it’s revered, Deville with a boot up on a charge! Sonya giving her flak for being blonde. Chokes her against the middle rope. Leg kicks ensue. She takes her down and stands on the hair. Roundhouse kick to the chest! Grinding her fist tape into her face, pulls her up and wants a whip but Lacey slams her facefirst into the buckle! Trip takes Deville facefirst into the mat.
Evans pulls her towards the apron, Paige-style knees to the chest and face! Sunset flip, awkwardly brings Deville into the official and clips his leg. Referee is asking for help, selling like his leg was injured. Commercial break as a bunch of other refs come in? We come back with a new ref in place and while the injured ref was being helped out, Sonya with another cheap shot, getting her with a chop block. Pounding on Evans, hair trip as Lacey tries to fight back. Sonya takes Evans out to the apron – just drives her headfirst into the floor, yikes! Man that looked brutal. She takes Lacey to the steps, and grinds her boot into Evan’s neck on the steps! Even steps on her neck on the way to the apron! She takes Lacey into the ring, cover for 2.
Sonya with a few forearms, hoists her onto her shoulders. Lacey escapes, clothesline is ducked but on the second attempt they meet in the middle and crash to the mat! Lacey with a clothesline, and then a second. Blocks a shot, kicks to the gut, sloppy axe kick finishes it. Now she poses for the Woman’s Right seemingly, but instead kicks her into the corner for the Springing Bronco Buster. Goes to the second rope, salutes, Double Jump Moonsault for a nearfall! Pulls her up but Deville with a high knee to the face retakes the advantage, chokes her in the top rope, tries to pull her into the top rope but Lacey kinda just misses it but sells like she hit it anyway. Deville with a running knee to the face for a nearfall! Now we have Mandy Rose on the tron saying she promised to make Mandy hurt but it must hurt her most to know she’s not a fighter, she’s a failure. Sonya starts howling with rage but turns right around into the Woman’s Right for the win.

You gotta love having one of those feuds where both sides cost each other wins and thus each fall down the rankings together as they build to their match.
