AEW Dark continues and we have Skyler Moore back for a match against Penelope Ford. Ford has been building a lot of momentum over the past several months and is looking to rack up another victory. On her way out, Kip Sabian is out there behind her carrying a little dog who is named as being Oscar Sabian, an Instagram star evidently.
Penelope Ford vs. Skyler Moore
Lock-up, quick break as neither can get the advantage. Lock-up again, into the corner to force a break from the ref. Ford wants a clothesline but Moore ducks it and hits an Arm Drag that sends her backing up. Ford witha kick but it’s blocked, Ford backs up into the ropes to try and force the break but Moore doesn’t want to let go, Ford with a kick taking the leg out from under her, stomp to the chest! Pulls her up and slams her facefirst into the turnbuckle! And then another one, followed up by a shot to the back. Takes her over to the middle rope for a choke, as she bends over to pet Oscar Sabian and kiss her beau Kip. Just lovely.
Ford grabs both wrists and pulls her neck-first into the top rope, pulls her into the ring. Drives her into the corner, shoulder thrusts, back roll, tries for a Handspring but Skyler reverses into a Sunset Flip for 2, Ford with a slap in response! Pulls her out to the center in a Front Facelock, Moore with body shot, escapes and hits a forearm. Skyler ducks a shot, big elbow strikes, spin kick to the gut! Gutwrench Suplex for a 2 count! Moore whips her to the ropes, Penelope rebounds into a surprise Lethal Injection! That leads to the Fisherwoman’s Suplex for the bridge and Oscar is actually watching as she gets the pin!
Winner: Penelope Ford
As always, Kip and Penelope celebrate with a make-out session in the ring, this time with their little dog still held in their arms.
This was a pretty cute shtick for a one-off and I’m actually impressed at how the pup just stayed there in Kip’s arms the whole time without a bit of struggle or complaint even as he was bending over to enter the ring. But I can’t say I’d recommend making him permanent, it’s pretty tough to get booed as you’re holding an adorable little dog.
