WWE Friday Night SmackDown kicks off. Jeff Hardy is backstage talking to some agents. I’ve since learned the bald man that was speaking authoritatively last week is former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce, couldn’t really recognize him in that suit. Anyway Jeff will be explaining his side of the story about what happened last week later tonight. We see a replay of his arrest from the drunk driving scene, plus his return later in the night where he attacked Sheamus. Now Jeff emerges to make his way to the ring and several of the PC crowd members are doing his dance along with him. I bet it’s not the first time for a lot of them.
He says it’s great to see everyone. He’d like to thank WWE management and Fox for giving him this time to get this off his chest. Says last week the WWE Universe witnessed something awful. People’s lives were endangered, the whole show was thrown into chaos and a good man in Elias walked away with serious injuries that could’ve been a lot worse. It was a nightmare. So let him paint a portrait from his point of view. Says he pulled up to the Performance Center parking lot excited about the show. He grabbed all his stuff, got out the car and WHAM. Felt like somebody hit him with an anvil. Everything went dark. Next thing he knew the police were asking him a ton of questions he couldn’t answer, his clothes reeked of alcohol, he felt like ripping the flesh from his wrists. He felt like he was going back to a dark place he never wanted to return to. He asks how he could possibly look his daughters in the eye and explain all this? He starts to tear up as he asks how many times can he ask for forgiveness? The PC crowd supports him of course.
He says he’s in the WWE for a reason but he atleast knows he’s not in this alone. Even as his head was split he knew he did not slip last Friday. He was passing sobriety tests right and left. Witnesses said they saw a man leave his car – with red hair and a red beard. He says he couldn’t get back here soon enough, we all know who fits that description right? Big boos. Jeff says the anger that was raised in him that night could only be expressed through actions. Sheamus tried to take everything from him and he’ll be damned if he lets him get away with it.
Sheamus comes out to the stage and says he shouldn’t point fingers. Says he’s just blaming others for his problems. Says people like him never take responsibility, they always make excuses. But those fans who lied to the cops on his behalf, they’re even worse. They’re enablers. Tells the people to shut their bleedin ‘traps and they boo. Sheamus tells Jeff for once in his life to be a man and admit what he did. But he won’t because he’s not a man, he’s just a junkie. And he tells him not to worry about the embarrassment his wife and daughters feel after his slip-up – they’re used to it. This gets Jeff to charge out of the ring and attack but Sheamus clips him with a Brogue Kick! Now he’s tossing him repeatedly into the ‘plexiglass’! A chant of “You Suck” as Sheamus poses.
