No, this is not a rerun of WWE’s totally not a hit show, Main Event. We’re just seeing the next chapter of Ruby Riott vs. Bianca Belair. After losing her previous two encounters to the EST of WWE, would Belair finally slip up and Riott could end her losing streak? Or would this story end the same as usual? Let’s find out!
Bianca Belair Is Dominant From The Opening Bell
While it’s always a treat to see these two clash, their matches have happened too many times and told the same story. The only difference is with each loss, you see more and more frustration on the face of Riott. There is no change of gameplan, no extended scouting of Belair, nothing.
The match would start with Riott getting thrown across the ring by Belair, before she’d call for a test of strength. Riott would think twice before going for this and attempt a kick, only to be countered into a rollup for a quick two. Riott would go for a rear-waist lock, only to be shoved away at the ropes. She’d go for a single leg takedown, but Belair would dodge and stomp the hand. The veteran was being completely schooled by the relative rookie.
Ruby Riott Mounts A Crafty Comeback
After being dropped with a shoulder tackle, Riott would be locked in a cravate on the mat, before fighting her way out. She’d break free only to be hit with a lariat and two huge hip tosses across the ring. A stomp to the foot of Belair would get Riott a slight advantage, and the brawler would slam the head of her opponent into the turnbuckle several times before hitting a Flatliner in the middle of the ring for the near fall. Some ground and pound from Riott would work, but she wouldn’t follow up with a cover, giving Belair time to breath.
Belair would come back with a rollup, getting a two count, before a hard knee to the stomach would drop Belair again. Riott would follow up with a tight front headlock, before being driven into the corner. She’d maintain control despite this, but Belair would slip out with another rollup. Hitting a big suplex, the powerhouse Belair would regain control. A spinebuster followed by a handspring moonsault would be a smart move, but Riott got the knees up and went for a quick cover. Riott would attempt The Riott Kick, but Belair would instead hoist her onto her shoudlers and hit the Kiss Of Death.
Is There A Future For Ruby Riott In WWE?
This makes the record between Riott and Belair 0 to 3, and simply extends the losing streak of Riott. It’s clear something needs to change to get her a major role on Monday Night RAW, and a return to tag team action with the new and improved Liv Morgan could be exactly that for her. They were allies for a while, and while things broke off, teams are needed for that division and that’s a natural one.
