It is not easy being Adam Cole these days. He is the longest reigning NXT Champion of all time, and still has Undisputed Era backing him up, but he has two of the deadliest men in NXT staring him down. Last week, Karrion Kross made his interest known, sending Scarlett to bring an hourglass to Cole after he’d just got done beating Dexter Lumis. However, as time ticks away, another man is looking to make history at the expense of Cole.
Keith Lee Wants To Be Double Champion
While being interviewed backstage about Karrion Kross, Cole would be confronted by the NXT North American Champion Keith Lee. He told Cole he does need to worry about losing his title, but not to Kross. Lee would pick up the hourglass, which seemed to be a about a third of the way empy. He’d smash it on the ground, and make his intentions known. He’d also mock the catchphrase of Kross, mumbling tick-tock as he walked away.
Adam Cole Heads To The Ring
Not rattled by either Lee or Kross, Cole would make his way down the ring to address the NXT fans. He’d start by reminding everyone that he’s been champion for 381 days, and the hardest working man in the entire industry. Many have stepped up and fallen to him, yet people still challenge him.
Kross was impressive at Takeover, he beat Ciampa, but you know who else did that? Cole did. He’s not impressed yet. Keith Lee is more on his mind, as he has something Cole wants too. Cole was the first ever North American Champion, and views himself as one of the best to ever hold it. He wants to be Champ Champ, Bay Bay.
Johnny Gargano Needs To Be Involved Too
Keith Lee would make his way to the ring, but before he could talk, Johnny Gargano would make his way to the ring as well. He has held both these championships, and say that he pinned Lee last week, so why isn’t he in this conversation? He’s still got eyes on the North American Championship, but why stop there? He didn’t get the NXT Championship reign he wanted, and wants to take that belt back too.
Three Is A Party, But Lets Make It Four
Finn Balor’s music would hit, as he made his way down to this combustible situation. Last week, he called out Keith Lee for a title shot and needs to remind Lee about this. Gargano got in his face but Balor brushed him off and warned Lee he’s coming for his title, before facing Cole and saying he’s taking that one after he’s done with Lee. Balor gets ready to punch Cole in the throat, but Regal gets on the screen.
Next week, Keith Lee will defend the North American Championship against both Balor & Gargano. The winner will face Adam Cole on July 8th, in a winner takes all affair.
