It has know started to come out that AEW was in talks with CM Punk before he joined the cast of WWE Backstage. Although he was asking for way too much money and that is the reason AEW didn’t sign CM Punk. Even though CM Punk did mention he talked to AEW and that it was only through a text. That now seems like a lie as apparently CM Punk actually approached AEW himself. It is a very unusual situation but let’s have a look at what’s going to happen next for CM Punk after Backstage being cancelled.
His worth has gone down.
Now that he has had his slight return to the industry, the suspense has kind of gone. Although he hasn’t actually wrestled yet. So, he would still be worth a massive amount to be the first company to have a CM Punk match on the card. Although him already technically being on a wrestling show. The amount he was asking for will probably be significantly lower than he originally wanted. Although now, CM Punk seems to be just in it for the money and not returning due to wanting to wrestle again. Although AEW could be the place for him if he finds his passion again when the crowds return.
His passion for wrestling seems to be truly gone.
It really seems like his passion that originally got into the business and made him one of the best wrestlers in the world is gone. Although a few wrestlers have mentioned that AEW has brought the passion back, for example, Jon Moxley. If CM Punk did ever go to AEW in the future, could that be the same for him? Although there is now a factor that hasn’t been mention. The fact that Colt Cabana is now signed with AEW. Even though nothing has been confirmed on their friendship after their legal war. It doesn’t seem very good as even after it was all settled, they still had a slight feud through twitter. This could now be a massive reason why CM Punk will never end up at AEW. He did kind of makeup with WWE, so never say never.
