We hate to say this, but we expect this to be WWE Raw squash match simply because that’s all they let R-Truth do anymore and he’s going to be facing a future hall of famer in Randy Orton.
R-Truth is a great talent and it’s a shame he’s been wasted with the 24/7 Championship instead of having some great matches to help put others over, but his antics have kept the 24/7 Championship alive. Some of those antics have led him to some uncomfortable situations, including one last week where he literally bumped into Randy Orton and Roc Flair backstage.
After doing his usual comedy gimmick of thinking Flair was Akira Tozawa in disguise, the real Tozawa and his ninjas arrived and he took off.
At seeing Orton Tozawa stopped and Orton directed them away from where Truth had headed. It was an interesting moment for the Viper, and it left the announcers wondering why he’d do such a thing.
We may have an answer this week, and sadly it’ll be longer than his match.

Will there be a match?
With Orton’s renewed role as Legend Killer and his reasons for taking out Edge and Christian was to keep them from coming back to the ring to possibly injure themselves, we can see him planning the same for Truth.
While Truth may not be in the same league as Edge and Christian, there’s no doubt he’ll be considered a legend by many if he’s not already.
We expect Orton to help him to win the match in the first minute, if there’s even a match.
More likely, and going by recent WWE actions, Truth will be jumped backstage and beaten for the 24/7 title, or he’ll run off, leaving Orton without a match. If this happens, we won’t be surprised if the Big Show or another older superstar comes out for a confrontation.
If there is a match
Like we mentioned earlier, it’ll be over in less than a minute, and Tozawa will try to scamper in for the quick pin to reclaim the 24/7 Championship.
This will give Orton the chance to send a message and send Truth home like he did Edge and Christian, but the Big Show will most likely interrupt things and save Truth so he and Orton can continue their buildup for their match.
Or, and this is a wild shot, but Drew McIntyre may even come out after he and Truth bonded a few weeks back after the tag match with MVP and Bobby Lashley. As unlikely as this is, it’d be a cool way for McIntyre to come out and set up a potential feud (a rumor that’s been around for a few weeks) for after Extreme Rules. It’d also give Dolph Ziggler a chance to try to get into McIntyre’s head in their last television appearance before the pay=per-view.
However it’s done, this is going to be one of those where we’ll wonder “Why did they bill it?”
