CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers here with a fun throwback spoiler we can’t help but feel will have some fun moments.
Originally airing on December 4, 1986, this episode has an interesting confrontation/problem involving Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) sending nude photos of her husband, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), into a centerfold competition.
Nothing wrong with that, right?
Well, the thing is, Paul didn’t know about it. And what makes this even more fun is the fact Lauren was ratted out by Paul’s mother, Mary Williams (Carolyn Conwell).
Oh, this is going to be a fun scene.
It’s also going to be interesting to see a dramatic take on what’s usually a sitcom style of story angle. That’s probably one of the reasons we’re looking forward to watching it.

It’s a well known fact that Mary tried everything she could to control Paul and mold him into the man she thought he should be.
She failed, or rather, he was too strong minded, and she’s since taken a dislike to pretty much every woman he’s been involved with.
Was Lauren one of those? Maybe, maybe not.
CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers think this was more of a thing where mom found out and contracted Paul.
Naturally, she’d assume Lauren was responsible to some degree, but chances are she figured it was her son being, well, himself.
This would naturally create an interesting and entertaining scene between two or even all three of them that’s one for the ages.
After all, there aren’t a whole lot of mothers that would approve of their children doing something like this. Though the fact it’s for a magazine probably adds to the humiliation Marry will feel.
Unintended consequence
What could really be interesting about this episode is that Mary could be trying to drive a wedge between Paul and Lauren, but what if this actually helped bring them closer together?
It’s this type of thing we’ve seen time and again in various shows, and it always helps create some fun tension between the parties involved.
What makes it even more interesting is how will Mary react if that was her intention and it failed?
We think it’d be a nightmare for a mother as controlling as her, and it’s something we wouldn’t mind seeing. That is assuming they show the follow up episode if it doesn’t all play out in this one.
Either way, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers feel we’re in for a fun ride with this classic.
