Finish Strong Recaps New Japan Strong Episode 3
Kevin Kelly Joins The Show
The presentation of the show is an attempt to show high dollar television networks within the United States that NJPW can produce programs fit for the traditional network structure within the country.
This week Chris Charlton discussed Rocky Romero possibly taking Adrian Quest and Danny Limelight under his wing as proteges after picking up his first win since NJPW returned from its COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) forced break.
Charlton also went into detail about the return of Hikuleo, confirming that he has indeed returned to the full-time NJPW roster after spending eight or so months in the United Kingdom. Hikuleo was likely set to spend more time away, but COVID-19 forced a change of plans.
Now no longer a Young Lion, Hikuleo has the opportunity to reach his lofty potential and set a precedent for the future of ‘big men’ in professional wrestling around the world.
Hikuelo’s upcoming program with Brody King will display what he learned while training at the Portsmouth School of Wrestling (attached to IWGP Conception partner Revolution Pro Wrestling) and how quickly he can begin rising the ranks within NJPW.
Finally, Charlton was joined by lead NJPW Play by Play Announcer Kevin Kelly who detailed that it looks like Bullet Club is dominating in both Japan and the United States, due to Evil capturing the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Championship’ along with the recent moves Bullet Club has made during New Japan Strong.
The conversation between Charlton and Kelly also alluded to a longer program between Jay White and Flip Gordon.
