We’re wet up for a dynamic power shift talent wise in professional wrestling if Brock Lesnar is AEW bound if he takes advantage of the circumstances.
It appears that Lesnar’s contract with WWE ended today (explains why his merchandise is missing in the WWE store) after the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement on a contract extension.
It’s been reported that the sides are taking a break before continuing, and it means anyone from AEW, OVE, Impact, or the UFC and beyond can sign him.
This may not seem like it, but this could be a huge loss, especially if he goes to AEW.
Career reboot
Lesnar is one of the world’s best professional wrestlers. Period.
His matches were often designed by Paul Heyman, meaning he set up statement match after statement match.
Lesnar can still match anyone in the ring at the highest levels if he’s allowed to, and this could be a great way to reboot his career.
If he decides to remain with the WWE, we already know what’ll happen.
He’ll come out, win a championship, and then appear every few months or so. It’s what he and the WWE do.
But if he goes elsewhere, he can immensely improve the standing of his new home.
Why Brock Lesnar AEW bound makes sense
While my personal choice would be for him to go to Impact Wrestling, AEW would be another awesome fit, especially as they’ve been collecting the big guys like the Murder Hawk, Brodie Lee, and Brian Cage.
Plus, he’d have more autonomy and freedom for his character in AEW, and he’s an old school guy that could really hep them shore up their shortcomings by giving them a proven commodity and a star that eclipses anyone they currently have on the roster.
Of course, imagining the matches against Brian Cage or the Murder Hawk brings to mind some of the best gladiatorial combats.
The downside to this is fans are tired of AEW and other promotions signing former WWE talent, but when the WWE stockpiled them so others couldn’t have them, what else can we expect?
While this sounds great in theory, that’s all it is.
It’s doubtful Lesnar will leave the WWE unless he sees something that can really benefit him.
While AEW would be a great fit, he may not want to burn any bridges with Vince McMahon, and AEWs booking has been kinda questionable for a while now.
Though maybe him going there could spark a few genius ideas that’d really put AEW on the map.
What do you think? Where should he go? Let us know in the comments.
