Since the COVID-19 shutdown, OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) has joined the long list of businesses and sports groups that close their operations during the lockdown and have no rejoined the living.
On August 9, 2020, they posted their first new content since shutting down, and they had some cleaning up to do in their championship ranks.

Steady hand
Commissioner Dean Hill opened the show by listing the platforms Ohio Valley Wrestling programming is available on, including Amazon, Roku, and others since the pandemic started. OVW is also global to 200 countries.
It’s amazing for any company to find a way to grow during the difficult times we’ve just had, but they managed it.
And now onto championship business.
For this, he called the entire locker room out to the floor for what he had to say next.
Championships remain
Commissioner Hill pointed out that OVW’s stance is their champions must defend their title every 30 days.
He said it was pointed out to him by several members of the locker room that they wanted a tournament.
He added that they have five titles, the Women’s Championship, Anarchy Championship (Hardcore), Rush Championship, Southern Tag Team Championship, and Heavyweight Championship.
With five titles, it’s impossible to hold a tournament for each as it’d take a year. So, they’re going to have a title match each week.
The champion and number one contender on March 11 remain in those positions. Only the Anarchy Championship was stripped, and that was because Amon had disappeared prior to March.
So next week there will be a hardcore weapons rumble and the winner (last man standing) will be the Anarchy Champion.
This week the Rush Championship will be held between Dimes (c) and Corey Storm.
Non-Title tag team match –LOB (The Legacy of Brutality) (c) defeated AJ Daniels and D’Mone Solavino
In a fun match, Daniels and Solavino put in a solid effort, but their speed was no match for the size and power of LOB.
In the end, the Legacy of Brutality lived up to their names as the four months off didn’t dampen their attitudes as they overpowered and dismantled Daniels and Solavino.
Adam Revolver and The Gilpinator ended in no contest
Revolver came out wearing a mask and gloves, sprayed everything down as he went, and carried a tape measure.
He even made the referee back away six feet when he got into the ring. He cut a typical heel promo by stating the arena smelled like he imagined it would.
He played the angle that he couldn’t be wrestled and everything should be shut down and tried to leave but Gilpinator stopped him, refusing to let him leave.
So Gilpinator sprayed him in the eyes with his cleaner and left the ring.
Anarchy Championship quest
Throughout the episode, Ms Marvelous convinced Melvin Maximus to challenge for the Anarchy Championship next week to take if from Amon as revenge for Amon taking her away from him last year.
Dustin Jackson defeated Drew Hernandez
This was a really good, fast paced match between friends as the friendly nature disappeared when Jackson amped up the intensity and Hernandez answered.
This was arguably the match of the night and one definitely worth watching a couple more times.
Dimes (c) defeated Corey Storm by disqualification
We saw a flashback to March when Dimes had three wishes, and his third one was for his best friend, Corey Storm, to hand over the Rush Championship of be fired.
Storm did so reluctantly, and here we are.
This should be a good one.
Dimes took an interesting tactic by slipping out of the ring and decided at the last second not to lose by count out to keep the championship.
The match because a pretty cool one as they sought to get into each other’s minds before Dimes worked of Storm’s leg to keep him grounded.
Storm had the match won until Jake Bradley entered the ring and nailed Storm.
It appears Bradley and Dimes are a team.
This was a fun show and it’s great to see more wrestling coming back. It’s going to be fun seeing what’s coming next week on Ohio Valley Wrestling.
