Perhaps the biggest match going into NXT Takeover XXX is Adam Cole vs. Pat McAfee. The build has been short and simple, and has breathed new life into a tired faction like Undisputed Era. McAfee is a fantastic athlete with a serious passion for professional wrestling, but he’s picked Adam Cole to try to make his name on. Cole is the greatest NXT Champion of all time, one of the best NXT has to offer.
Tonight, they will meet face to face ahead of their match at Takeover. Will they come to blows, or will things remain civil? McAfee would bring some of his NFL buddies along, ensuring he wasn’t outnumbered by the Undisputed Era.
Pat McAfee Goes Off On Adam Cole
Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish would hit the ring first, calling for McAfee to come to the ring. He’d stroll in from the side, flanked by his buddies and get a microphone. McAfee brought 28 years of NFL experience with him, because he knows Cole would be nothing without his ‘stooges’.
In response, Cole would send the rest of the Undisputed Era to ringside, and McAfee would finally get in the ring. McAfee would check if Cole remembers what happened two weeks ago after his head got kicked off. Cole was outsmarted by McAfee, he outsmarted one of the best wrestlers in all of NXT.
Adam Cole calls himself the king of NXT, yet it took McAfee a minute to knock him out. He’s never been in the ring before, but made Cole look like an amateur. He says wrestling fans better hope he doesn’t stick with wrestling, or he’ll dominate this industry.
McAfee only needs two weeks to get ready to kick Adam Cole’s ass, then he’ll need to explain to everyone that he lost to an outsider. If nothing else, McAfee proved he’s a great promo.
Cole’s Turn To Talk Wouldn’t Come
When Cole would get ready to talk, NXT security guards would come into the ring to hold him back, and they’d be dropped in less than 20 seconds with a series of kicks. McAfee was taken back by this, and the rest of The Undisputed Era would back him up. Actions speak louder than words, but Cole had some words for McAfee. “This Saturday, I’m going to make you my bitch.”
This match is going to be unpredictable. McAfee can talk the talk, but do you think he can walk the walk at NXT Takeover XXX? He seemed to realize when Cole took out the security detail without breaking a sweat that he might be a bit over his head.
