WWE NXT Results: Cameron Grimes vs. KUSHIDA vs. ???

Three spots remain in the Ladder Match that will decide the new NXT North American Champion. One of those will be filled tonight, and we know two of the three men in the final triple threat.

First we have the loudmouthed Cameron Grimes, a man who has scored huge wins over men like Finn Balor, Damien Priest, and took Keith Lee to the limit last week. Secondly, KUSHIDA returns after failing to win the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, coming through with a 2-1 record, and previously took men like WALTER to the limit.

Either could win this match, but a third surprise competitor makes this match a hard one to plan for. Whoever doesn’t get pinned or submitted will get a second chance, adding another layer of tactics to this matchup. Who would advance?

    Velveteen Dream Returns To NXT

After failing to win the NXT Championship, former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream would vanish alongside renewed interest in the allegations of him being a child predator. We can only hope that him returning to the ring means that those claims were proven false, and this isn’t WWE pushing this very serious situation under the rug, which they are known to do.

Grimes would go for the ankle pick early on Dream who would resist. The Carolina Caveman would be taken out by KUSHIDA, allowing Dream & KUSHIDA to take control in the middle of the ring. Dream would be sent to the outside, with him being taken out with a tornado DDT on the floor.

Coming back from a commercial break, KUSHIDA would be in full control of the match, looking to drop both men with a DDT. He’d be stopped, but deck Dream with a punch to the face, with Dream having just enough to superkick Grimes as all men would be downed.

Dream was first back to his feet, and he’d send Grimes over the top rope with a lariat before diving to the outside. KUSHIDA would be hit with a Dream Valley Driver, with Grimes trying to steal the win to no avail.

Cameron Grimes Is Going To Takeover

Grimes & Dream would brawl on the outside, with KUSHIDA diving onto them from the top. Back in the ring, KUSHIDA would get Grimes to the top rope for his flying armbar, but it’d almost be broken by the Purple Rainmaker. Instead, Dream would be caught with an attempt at a triangle choke.

Dream would fight through into an attempted Dream Valley Driver, but KUSHIDA got the Hoverboard Lock. While KUSHIDA had this locked in, Grimes would hit the Cave In on KUSHIDA to walk away with the win.

This means Grimes goes to Takeover, and we get Finn Balor vs. Velveteen Dream next week for another roll. Following the match, Dream would snap and attack KUSHIDA further, beating him down, showing a new side of dream. Do you think Grimes could become NXT North American Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
