Jeff hardy came out favoring his right leg, so we’ll see how well he handles things going forward.
The match started with then circling each other before Styles went for Jeff’s injured knee, but Jeff got away.
Jeff kicked Styles with his right leg, then hit Styles with a backbody drop.
Styles pushed Jeff into the corner, but Jeff caught him with a double kick when he charged in.
Jeff hopped not the middle rope, but Styles punched Jeff’s right leg off the rope then ripped open Jeff’s right pants leg to expose the knee brace.
When Styles tried to throw him off the ropes, Jeff collapsed.
Jeff continued to try to fight back and hit a jawbreaker to get some breathing room, then ducked so Styles went over the top rope.
Styles tried to catch himself on the apron, but he slipped and fell to the floor.
Jeff tried to hit a swinging kick through the ropes, but Styles caught his legs and slammed his knee into the ring apron as we headed to commercial.
Jeff’s comeback
We returned from commercial with both men in the ring and Styles working on further softening Jeff’s injured leg.
Jeff got loose, and hit with a spinning kick when Styles caught him initial kick.
Jeff followed it up with and inverted atomic drop, a double leg drop, and dropkick for a near pinfall on Styles.
Pulling Styles up, Jeff hit with a front suplex slam for another near pinfall.
Styles slipped out of a Twist of Fate and hit with a heel kick to buy some time.
Jeff pulled himself up in a corner and hit Styles with a reverse elbow, but when he climbed to the top rope hit knee gave way and Jeff hit the mat.
Styles attempted a Phenomenal Forearm, but Jeff countered with a punch to the midsection.
Styles rolled Jeff into a Calf Crusher, but Jeff managed to drag himself to the rope to force the break.
Jeff Fought out of a Styles clash by hitting him in the face with his knee brace and then hit with a Twist of Fate.
Jeff made it to the top rope and Jeff hit with a swanton bomb for the win.
After the match, Jeff was interviewed by Kayla and he pointed out a year ago he was in a really dark place and didn’t think he’d find a way out.
But now he stands in the ring with hope, hope that things will get better for everyone that’s struggling.
We didn’t see this coming until SummerSlam or Payback, but well done, Champ. You deserve it.
Backstage, Styles was yelling at Joseph Park, and then turned his irate attention to Kayla, saying his “expert” said he was going to win and how he paid him good money, and so on.
The man is a great ranter and WWE Smackdown Results and Recap love it.
