Tay Conti is officially part of AEW, and gets her first test as a singles star in the company. Her opponent is former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose, who lost to Conti in tag team action during the Deadly Draw tournament. The Dark Order has their eyes on Conti as a recruit, so while Rose has Vickie Guerrero in her corner, she might find herself outnumbered. Could Conti get the biggest win of her career in her Dynamite debut?
Nyla Rose & Tay Conti Go To War
Conti previously cut Rose down with calculated strikes, so had a plan in mind going into this huge match. She’d rush in with some strikes, but Rose would force her into the corner with a tackle. Conti would then be thrown across the ring, but some kicks would fly and stagger Rose before Conti tried for the roll up. This only got a two count, but Conti then went for the knee bar, Rose stomped her way out and shoved Conti to the outside.
Guerrero would get some hits in behind the back of the referee, and Rose would go outside to brawl. Conti was ready for his, shoving Rose into the barricade and post, then nailing a big bicycle knee. Shoving Rose back into the ring, Conti would hit a crossbody off the middle rope for a near fall. Some judo style throws would be followed by another smart kick from Conti.
However, that kick just woke Rose up, and she’d start to thrash Conti once again, retaking control. A big scoop slam and a jumping leg drop would follow, this one looking bad for Conti. She’d try for a diving sunset flip, but be picked up and slammed hard into the mat. The chokeslam would be attempted, but Conti turned it into an armbar. Rose picked her up the Beast Bomb, and this one was over.

Following the match, Vickie Guerrero would assault the ears of fans and remind everyone that they’re going nowhere. Rose would try to pick Conti up again, but Hikaru Shida rushed out to make the save, Kendo Stick in hand. The champion isn’t gonna let Conti be attacked after the bell, showing why she’s the leader of the division.
