Ever since Double Or Nothing, Darby Allin has been a victim of Team Taz members Brian Cage & Ricky Starks. He’s been humiliated, brutalized, and mocked constantly, but tonight he has a chance to get revenge as he faces Ricky Starks one on one. Starks has been dominant since his debut against Cody for the TNT Championship with 8 straight singles wins, but can he manage to put Darby Allin away tonight to start this show?
Darby Allin Came In With Purpose
This one was always going to be a fight more than a match, but it’s not No DQ, so they can’t go too far. Starks would slap Allin in the face to start this one, and took a dropkick to the chest and was sent to the outside. He’d get right back in and try that vicious spear on Allin, only to get trapped in a guillotine choke. Starks fought free, only to be flipped across the ring and end up in an armbar, escaping with the rope.
The match wasn’t working out as planned for Starks, and his ability to think on his feet would be tested. Starks would try to suplex Allin over the top rope, and he’d get him to the apron before getting suplexed onto the apron. Just when he’d get to his feet, Allin would crash into him with a tope through the middle & bottom ropes.
Brian Cage would come to the ring, but would be routed by Will Hobbs, who’d brawl to the back. This was enough to distract Allin however, and Starks would rip Allin off the apron hard to the ground. Now in control, he’d drop an elbow to the back, and pick Allin up for some chops and throw him around the ring.
Ricky Starks Gets Overzealous
Allin would go for a front dropkick, and end up in the middle of the ring trapped in a single leg boston crab, but fought to the ropes. Starks would maintain the advantage and hit a backdrop, and just stomp Allin into the mat. His finisher would be attempted but Allin dodged and hit a huge Yoshi-Tonic for a near fall.
Allin would lock in the armbar once again, and when Starks was close to the rope, he’d grab the free arm and force him to crawl closer to break the hold. Both men were tired by the frantic pace of this match, but Allin hit the stunner and tried for the springboard coffin drop, Starks countering with a spear, taking Allin out of the air! This only got a near fall, but Allin was rocked.
Allin would be propped up on the top rope, and a top rope Roshambo would be set up, but Allin fought out and sent Starks to the mat.
