The undefeated Mansoor is back on 205 Live, and he faces an old rival of Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis. They clashed when Adonis was still Tehuti Miles, but he has improved since being taken under the wing of The Brian Kendrick. Could he finally figure out Mansoor?
Mansoor Was Ready To Go
Adonis came in early with a big takedown, slipping in a bit of showboating and then giving up the arm. A standing armbar would be applied, taking Adonis to the mat before being pushed into the corner. Adonis tried to leap over Mansoor, but had his arm kicked. He’d try to get moving but again get outwrestled by Mansoor and dropped with a reverse DDT.
Back on their feet, Adonis would get a bit of an advantage when he’d slingshot Mansoor over the rope, and then yanked him throat first into the top rope. Adonis hit one of this beautiful high angle ‘Rude Awakening’ esque neckbreakers, and then applied a chin lock on Mansoor, but a jawbreaker broke the hold. A flapjack would drop Mansoor right away, and he’d take refuge in the corner only to eat some boots to the chest.
Ashante Adonis Takes A Page From The Brian Kendrick
Another chinlock, and Adonis has been staying focused in this match. Mansoor broke out with another jawbreaker, but Adonis again got a slingshot attempt. This time, Mansoor went to the turnbuckle, but landed on his feet and came back with a body splash. A back elbow into a lariat, followed by a Manhattan Drop into a spinebuster.
Mansoor would run Adonis into the corner with a lariat, and then hit a diving bulldog for a near fall! The finisher would be set up, but Adonis countered into The Captains Hook, taking a page from the giant book of The Brian Kendrick. Mansoor would break out, block a second attempt, and hit his finisher for the win.
This was another good match from these two, and showed more of the evolution of Ashantee ‘Thee’ Adonis. Maybe by 2021 he’ll get a win, and by that point the undefeated Mansoor will have gotten a title shot against Santos Escobar!
