At NXT Takeover 31, we’re going to see a huge and rather unexpected main event match between NXT Champion Finn Balor and his first contender of this reign, Kyle O’Reilly. The four time NXT Tag Team Champion is also a deadly singles wrestler, when given the chance to do so. Now just four days ahead of this clash, they’re going to meet face to face, and Shawn Michaels will be there to play host, and unsure things don’t get too bad.
Finn Balor & Kyle O’Reilly Have Respect For Each Other
There’s no real animosity between them, and they’d shake hands before things get heated. Balor has nothing but respect for O’Reilly and it’s returned. O’Reilly has wanted to face Balor for years, and now it’s time to finally get this match. Michaels called O’Reilly the ‘best kept secret’ in NXT, but Balor knows exactly how good he is. He’s proven himself all around the world as a singles wrestler.
Balor is a fighting champion, which means defending the title even when there is certain defeat in their face. O’Reilly would be asked if Undisputed Era will be in his corner, or will he face him alone like a man. He’d say this is his business, not Undisputed Era’s business. This is all him. Michaels would ask if this would lead to a power struggle in the Undisputed Era? But this isn’t going to happen.
Balor Gets The Last Word
O’Reilly would say this weekend’s match is the biggest match of his career, and remind Balor that no one ever loses their first defense. He’d take offense to being called an underdog in this coming match, but that will change when Balor hears his knee cap snapping on Takeover.
Balor would get the final word, and he’d say that Kyle O’Reilly has all the tools to become champion, and he’d become champion against anyone else. However, he has to beat Finn Balor, and that simply isn’t going to happen.
