G1 Climax 30 Night 10 saw former IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Bullet Club member Evil face former two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson.
Juice came into the match with 6 points, and coming off a victory against current KOPW (presumably King of Pro Wrestling) titleholder and CHAOS member Toru Yano.
Evil came into the match with 4 points, and a victory during G1 Climax 30 Night 8 against former NEVER Openweight Champion and Bullet Club member Kenta.
G1 Climax 30: Evil v Juice
Juice was on form despite going against the former ‘Double Champion’ and showed why he’s had success in singles competition in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) throughout his career.
Evil along with his manager Dick Togo focused on Juice’s back throughout the duration of the match, making it difficult for Juice to put together a flow of effective offense.
Despite dealing with his back, Juice was able to battle back and come close to putting Evil away after using his Juice Box technique. When it looked like Juice was going to put the match away, Togo got involved and turned the destiny of the match.
Evil would be able to gain the fall at the 15 minutes and 35 seconds mark with the EVIL technique to move his B Block total to 6 points, moving him ahead of Juice who also sits with 6 points.
Despite his slow start, Evil now has the opportunity to make a run towards the G1 Climax 30 Finals. Yet, his reliance on Dick Togo may prevent him from reaching those heights as competition will prepare ways to deal with him as the tournament continues.
Juice remains in a solid position despite the defeat and could make a run towards the finals if he puts together a good second half of block action.
