It’s time for another major PPV event for All Elite Wrestling, as Full Gear airs later tonight. It’s a stacked card, so let’s waste no time in breaking down why to not sleep on what could be their best PPV event this year.

Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley Gear Up For An Emotional I Quit Match

In the main event, we will have two long time friends going to war. Jon Moxley has been AEW World Champion for most of the calendar year, but now he has his greatest challenge yet. He’s beaten monsters like Brian Cage, Brodie Lee and Lance Archer, and has outsmarted MJF, but now Eddie Kingston wants round two.

Last time they met, Kingston didn’t quit. He never will. Jon Moxley turned his back on Kingston years ago, and that betrayal made Kingston into the man he is today. These are men who broke bread together, but now they will break each other until one utters the words “I Quit”. It won’t be for the faint of heart, but could end up on a few Match of the Year lists when the dust settles.

Young Bucks & FTR Finally Meet

At one point, this match felt like a pipe dream at best. FTR were on top of the world in WWE NXT, Young Bucks ruling the tag team game everywhere else. Now, they’re both in AEW, FTR have the tag team championships, and Young Bucks are #1 contenders. Ignore the messy build AEW has thrown together towards this match, and let what happens in the ring define what could be one of the best tag team matches we will see all year. This is a dream match for many people, and those don’t come around often. Oh, and if the Young Bucks lose, they can never challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships again. Just an extra little spice on top of this match.

Will MJF Be Allowed Entry Into The Inner Circle?

When you look at MJF, it’s hard to not see a bit of Chris Jericho in there. He’s young, but wise beyond his years. MJF can tear down anyone on the microphone, and when the bell rings he is as calculated and talented as they come. However, one thing he isn’t is a team player, yet he wants to join Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. The way in is simple, he just needs to beat the thirty year veteran himself, in a no frills singles match. If MJF can win, he’s allowed in, but Jericho will not make this easy on him.

Hangman Page Faces Kenny Omega, And His Personal Demons

Finally for the big matches, we have the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Kenny Omega beat Sonny Kiss & Penta El Zero M to get here, and Hangman Page beat Colt Cabana & Wardlow. This always felt like the easy pick for the finals, with their recent and nasty tag team breakup fresh in the minds of fans.

Hangman Page isn’t coming into this one with the best mental state, as his past failures haunt him. He didn’t become the first AEW Champion, and this is perhaps his best chance to redeem that, but he also failed Omega at All Out. Add in that he betrayed the Young Bucks after being played by FTR, and it’s easy to see him being distracted. He’s made many mistakes, and isn’t ready to take that next step.

Meanwhile, Kenny Omega is finally back. The Best Bout Machine has risen, and he’s buying into his own hype. A few years back, he was dubbed the best wrestler in the world, and has the resume to back it up. All he needs to prove it is the AEW World Title, and this would get him one step closer.

    The Rest Of The Card

Rounding out the card is the following matches. Orange Cassidy takes on John Silver of Dark Order. Hikaru Shida defends the AEW World Women’s Title against Nyla Rose. Cody Rhodes defends the TNT Championship against Darby Allin. Matt Hardy faces Sammy Guevara at the Hardy Compound. Serena Deeb & Allysin Kay battle for the NWA Women’s Title on the Buy In. All should be fine matches in their own rights, but make up a packed undercard.
