The final stop towards Survivor Series takes place tonight, as SmackDown takes place. The blue brand has been the place for all the best action over recent months, and that will likely continue this evening with another action-packed night likely to be in store for fans.
But, could there be a couple of surprises tonight before we arrive at one of the biggest WWE events of the year on Sunday night? Here are three surprises that we could see happening tonight.
WWE News: Sami Zayn Forced To Defend United States Championship
Sami Zayn has been an excellent United States champion to this point after reclaiming his title in a memorable ladder match against Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles. He was forced to defend his championship last week on SmackDown against Apollo Crews.
The match ended in a count out victory for Zayn, but we don’t expect this to be the end of the feud just yet. Instead, due to the unfortunate finish with Crews getting stuck and missing the count, we expect a re-match between the two stars taking place this evening.
WWE News: Drew McIntyre Confronts Roman Reigns
Drew McIntyre stunned the WWE Universe last week on SmackDown by showing up on Friday night unannounced. It was a shock to most given that at the time Randy Orton was meant to be the star going one on one with Roman Reigns. However, the tease of McIntyre winning back the WWE Championship proved to be true as he won the gold back from Orton on Raw this past week.
McIntyre could be set to appear on SmackDown again tonight to confront the Big Dog, as their showdown on Sunday grows closer. It looks to be one of the biggest matches on the card this weekend, and the anticipation will continue to raise when they go face to face tonight.
WWE News: Raw Superstars Show Up On SmackDown
The typical segment of stars appearing on the opposite brands to build up the big matches for Survivor Series hasn’t yet happened, and that certainly looks like it will change this evening.
Fans aren’t exactly pumped for the elimination matches at this point, which means that an invasion angle could raise the stakes slightly. For that reason, we would be very surprised to not see the stars from Raw appear on SmackDown this evening with just two days to go until the huge PPV.
