Last week on NXT, Ember Moon & Toni Storm were attacked following a tag team win over Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez. This was done by Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell, looking to get some allies for War Games. Instead, she got an unclear response from Kai & Gonzalez, she just gained a singles match tonight with a former NXT Women’s Champion.
Ember Moon Is On Fire
Moon was ready to go before the bell even ran, but LeRae wanted her to calm down before she left the ropes. LeRae would get some advice from Hartwell during a time out, before being kicked right in the face. Moon would chase her to the outside, but Hartwell ran a quick distraction. This led to LeRae slipping to the outside, into a wheelbarrow and was slammed off the announce desk. Kevin Owens said hi, but LeRae was busy.
Hartwell took a big forearm, and back in the ring Moon would hit a Fallaway Slam and send LeRae to the outside again. LeRae would be keen to just leave this one, but Moon took her back to the room and lost the advantage as LeRae stomped her. Moon would be stuck on the mat with a neck crank, slipping out to trade near falls with some rollups.
Moon would come back with some hard strikes, something she clearly worked on while away. She’d try for a suplex but LeRae blocked into a rollup, only getting two. Moon made a comeback with some back elbows before trying for a scoop slam, before LeRae slipped out and yanked her to the mat with her hair. Kevin Owens would point out that if Moon shaved her head, that couldn’t happen anymore.
Candice LeRae Gets Some Backup
Moon would counter a kick from LeRae and hit a capture suplex, then hit another hard kick for a near fall. Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez would hit the ringside area as we go to a commercial break. Through picture in picture, we’d see Moon being beaten down by LeRae, with her confidence in full swing with a full gang at ringside, and her War Games team confirmed.
Coming back from the break, Moon was starting to rally back with the crowd in the Capitol Wrestling Center behind her. She’d break a tight chin lock and make a comeback, before ending up in the Gargano Escape in the middle of the ring. Moon would break this but LeRae moved right into a sleeper hold, showing her incredible fluidity in the ring, but this was broken by a stunner. Kevin Owens did his best Woody Woodpecker impression on commentary.
Moon would strike with force, hitting a forearm before a front drop suplex to set up the Eclipse. Indi Hartwell would use a distraction from Kai & Gonzalez, take the move for LeRae and this allowed her to hit Twisted Stepsister and defeat Ember Moon.
Moon was now surrounded by the trio, but Toni Storm made the save and helped her ally out. They’d rush the ring, but Storm instead threw her into the steel steps, before throwing Moon to the wolves.
