Boxing fans all over the world would have breathed a sigh of relief on Wednesday morning, as it was revealed that Anthony Joshua tested negative for having coronavirus. That means that the fight taking place on Saturday evening against Kubrat Pulev will 100% be taking place.
The tests were a mandatory procedure for the heavyweight champion, as he will now enter the pre-fight bubble ahead of the huge title fight in London this weekend. Eddie Hearn revealed the negative test on social media.

There has been a lot of talk in the build-up for the huge fight surrounding the mental approach that Joshua must adopt going into the fight. Since that defeat, Pulev has won all eight fights to earn his spot as the mandatory challenger for Joshua’s belts. There will also be the welcome sight of having fans back in attendance in London for a huge boxing event, with 1,000 expected to be in attendance at the SSE Arena. Joshua will be hoping that the fans can play a part in what could be a huge night for the British world champion, but he should overlook the Bulgarian at his peril.
