It has all come down to this night. Ten men entered this tournament with dreams of the finals, but only two will move on. It’s been a long road, and a four way tie persists as this one comes to an end, with SHO, Taiji Ishimori, El Desperado & Hiromu Takahashi coming in still in the mix. They’re the only ones left standing, and it’s do or die time. Tonight was a joint show alongside World Tag League, results and ratings found here for that half of the show.

Best Of The Super Junior XXVII Match: Robbie Eagles vs. Yuya Uemura

Yuya Uemura proved himself in this tournament, despite not even getting a single win. He’s consistently pushed his limits, and shown that he’s more than a simple Young Lion. The same could be said about Robbie Eagles, who scored three wins over eight matches, but consistently showed he was better than most thought. Now, both eliminated, their final match is for pride. Eagles could finish with a respectable 4-5 record, while Uemura can finally win a match.

One last big showing for Uemura told the same story. He showed his heart and gave 100% once again, but was just unable to close it out. Eagles on the other hand was able to ground Uemura and apply his kneebar to force the submission. Uemura finishes at 0 points, while Eagles finishes at 8 points. Just remember, even Jushin Liger went 0 points in his last BOSJ, so there is no shame.

    Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** ½)

Best Of The Super Junior XXVII Match: Ryusuke Taguchi vs. DOUKI

Ryusuke Taguchi is not a factor in the finals of Best of Super Junior this year, and that burns him up inside. He was in the conversation for the finals last year, but couldn’t get there this year. His match with Hiromu was the best the tournament saw, but he failed to win. He can at least finish with a win, provided he can overcome the devious DOUKI who has impressed many over the span of this tour.

While it wasn’t an instant classic like last night against Hiromu Takahashi, Ryusuke Taguchi had another fantastic match here with DOUKI. DOUKI has been the most improved man in the tournament, but was unable to stop the wily veteran. Ryusuke Taguchi used all of his assets and tricks, before winning with the Dodon, to get his 70th BOSJ win ever, but failed to make the finals. Another solid match, but now things get interesting as we enter the winners stretch.

    Match Rating: 3/5 (***)

Best Of The Super Junior XXVII Match: Hiromu Takahashi vs. Master Wato

Master Wato & Hiromu Takahashi look like perfect rivals, with their clashing styles in the ring and in aesthetics, and tonight we see if there is chemistry as well. Wato was just short of being in the final conversation on this night, while Takahashi remained alive. This makes it a must win situation for Takahashi, who also needs either SHO & El Desperado to lose their matches on this night.

Master Wato would try to wrestle the daredevil style of Hiromu Takahashi, throwing out his usual game plan and getting reckless. This was a mistake, as he wasn’t able to keep up with the insanity of Hiromu Takahashi, only hit one signature blow before being dropped by Time Bomb II. Takahahsi needs to watch the next two matches closely, as he reaches 14 points, but needs the rest of the night to go his way.

    Match Rating: 2.75/5 (** ¾)

Best Of The Super Junior XXVII Match: Taiji Ishimori vs. SHO

A win over Hiromu Takahashi in an epic match last week sets SHO up well to reach the finals, but the biggest test remains. Can he beat the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Taiji Ishimori? Ishimori needs this win to make it to the finals, and become a rare BOSJ winner who is also the reigning champion, but is one step behind both Hiromu Takahashi & El Desperado, leaving this one up to fate, as one of them needed to lose.

There’s matches with a breakneck pace, and then theres an apron piledriver spot minutes in. Ishimori was ready to demolish the neck of SHO, but even that and the Yes! Lock soon after couldn’t end SHO, who fought on through to have a very close match. It could have went either way many times, both men hitting their signatures, and Ishimori even pulled out a Reverse Bloody Cross to set up the normal version, which got a win. Ishimori keeps moving, but he still needs Desperado to lose despite being at 14 points. If Desperado wins, it’s him and Hiromu, but a loss means Hiromu & Ishimori.

    Match Rating: 4/5 (****)

Best Of The Super Junior XXVII Match: BUSHI vs. El Desperado

Closing out this chapter of Best of The Super Juniors XXVII is the battle of the masked men, as BUSHI clashes with El Desperado. BUSHI is eliminated, and Desperado will be too if he isn’t able to win this match, and history is not on his side. In their three matches together, BUSHI has won two of them, and looks to make that three to close out this tournament at a respectable ten points.

BUSHI has had a fantastic tournament, and it all came down to this. He’d have to face a man who has had the best tournament of his career though, and Desperado didn’t come this far to lose. He’d take everything BUSHI had to give in an epic back and forth, until applying the Stretch Muffler. BUSHI was trapped and had to verbally submit or never use the leg again.

    Match Rating: 4/5 (****)

The finals of Best of Super Juniors will be Hiromu Takahashi vs. El Desperado. Who will win the finals match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
