With TLC now in our rearview mirror, WWE Raw Preview is all set to look toward the fallout tonight, and it should be something we’re familiar with.
The Queen’s return
Now that the Lana was made to suffer simply to bring Charlotte Flair back to win a championship in her return night, the focus will now switch to Asuka.
As the Raw Women’s Champion, Asuka not only finds herself in the new typical position of carrying multiple titles but she now has three competitors to concern herself with for her Raw Women’s title.
While Flair’s return is a much needed boost to the women’s division, the fact we’re going to see tension build between her and Asuka for the top women’s championship on the red brand is expected.
This will leave Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax chasing them for the tag titles and chasing Asuka for their shot at her belt.
As much as we’d love to see Baszler and Asuka have a long running feud for the top title, we expect this to build for an Asuka and Flair match at WrestleMania because why would we expect anything different?
The only added flair could be Becky Lynch may return by then and be added to a triple threat match.
McIntyre’s challengers
WWE Raw Preview are grateful for one thing that came from the WWE Championship Match — the disastrous MITB gimmick is finally over for the year and should be tabled for the next few years.
It’s hard not to laugh at the absurdly horrible way this storyline played out and just how dumb they made the Miz look throughout.
But since neither man won via pinfall, we expect them both to make a case for a rematch, which McIntyre won’t hesitate to give them.
While it would make a certain degree of sense to have Sheamus turn on McIntyre here, it doesn’t feel right.
Maybe it was how they failed to really build AJ Styles and McIntyre for the match, choosing to focus on the Mix and the MITB contract instead.
We think it’s only a matter of time before McIntyre faces Omos, and we expect that to come after his feud with Styles is over so he and Sheamus can conclude their upcoming feud at WrestleMania.
Of course, given how bad Raw has been lately and how it seems Vince McMahon is content with how things are since he has the final say, we expect things to continue to be drawn out as they try to repair some characters and storylines.
