In a recent Joe Rogan Podcast with the Undertaker. The Undertaker said that in his day they had guns and knives. That wrestlers now have video games and are trying to look pretty. Obviously this has offended the whole current roster meaning it has had a lot of responses.
A lot of members of the roster from top spot to mid-card have reacted to it. Even some Legends have responded to this.
What member of current and old roster had to say:
Goldbergs response on the Corey Graves Podcast:
“I just think the product is a little soft. There’s obviously guys here and there that have an edge to them, but there’s too much pretty and not enough substance I think right now,”
This looks like Goldberg is agreeing with the Undertaker.
In an interview with Sportskeeda. He has this to say about the matter:
“I don’t agree whatsoever. Especially from an in-ring perspective,” McIntyre said. “I’ve listened to part of it, I’ve got to listen to the whole thing, it’s pretty new. But I think he may have been referring to things like the kind of storylines and characters etc. Like the co-host that was on the show was like a fan from the Attitude Era and I think they were perhaps referring to some of the outlandish storylines.
Back in the day, there were more sexual based, more like risque/18 plus. Our current product is PG, there’s only so far we can push it and we’re willing to push it. There’s certain things from back in the day that were awesome and certain things that were not awesome that I wouldn’t wanna go back to. So I’m not sure if it was more from that perspective when it comes to the stories and not being as adult-based as it used to be but I think you know we’re walking a good line right now.
“But when it comes to the in-ring game, that’s just not true at all. It’s never been more physical.”
Reading his response it feels like he is trying to go down both roads. Without affecting the
Undertaker or his upcoming opponent Goldberg. It was a very top wrestler reaction, not hurting any side, keeping everyone happy, kind of like a locker room leader of today.
Then we have Romans reigns and Mick Foley response:
Mick Foley simple tweeted this :
“Today’s professional wrestlers are every bit as tough as the wrestlers of my era were. Just my opinion.”
Then last but not least, Roman Reigns‘ response. He went on to say that wrestlers today have to do more to interest the fans. As finishers in their day are average moves today. He also said he feels like Mark (the Undertaker) misspoke due how much knowledge he has. Then though he ended the interview this :
“I think it was just like a retired guy trying to sound gangster.”
Seeming like even the Big Dog himself took offence to the Dead Man’s weird comments about the current roster.
