The Undertaker officially retired at the Survivor Series PPV on the 22 November 2020. It didn’t take long for the Undertaker to appear on different shows as himself; Mark Calaway. After so many years as the Undertaker, there isn’t much surprise that we are seeing a lot of Mark Calaway afterwards.
We are hearing a lot of stories from the Deadman from different podcasts and interviews. The weirdest one yet is the Joe Rogen Podcast. Where he shoots on the company he worked for over 33 years. With him mainly focusing on the current roster rather than a company as whole.
What the Undertaker had to say:
“I’ll probably piss a lot of people off, but they need to hear it. It is what it is. To the young guys, ‘Oh, he’s a bitter old guy’. I’m not bitter. I did my time, I’m good. I walked away when I learned to walk away. I just think the product is a little soft. There’s guys here and there that have an edge to them, but there’s too much pretty, not enough substance right now. They’re trying to put something out for everybody. Some guys are into the comedy s**t, there’s other guys that want to see the more hardcore-type fighting. I think one of the biggest things that happened, we all got old at the same time, so there weren’t enough guys to work with the young guys.”
WWE wrestler’s response: There has been a response form Xavier Woods with him saying:
“I wouldn’t be the person that I am without the guidance and lessons of a few key people from the previous generation of wrestling. They taught me about the business, to save my money, & that having video games in the locker room is healthier than having [redacted]. Thank you guys.”
This quote did focus on the fact that the Undertaker mentioned when he was in the locker room, a man had a knife and guns. With them now just playing video games and trying to look pretty. This is a very weird look at the iconic dead man and it looks to annoy some current WWE wrestlers.
