Over the last few weeks, WWE Raw Preview has been waiting for something like this to happen, and finally Riddle is going to get a decent push for a mid card title chance.
Though to be honest, despite his technical “win” against Lashley, Riddle hasn’t done much to show he can match up with the dominating powerhouse of the Hurt Business, but that will change.
Tonight, Riddle will have to go through Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, and finally MVP to get another shot at the United States Championship.
Here we go
For weeks, Riddle has tried to share his ideas and be friendly with the Hurt Business, and after being the focus of their tormenting, he’s managed to sneak in a couple of matches that have shown potential.
He does technically have a win over Lashley when the referee didn’t see Riddle tap out, but Lashley erased all doubt the following week when he won by submission.
In fact, Lashley dominated both matches with Riddle having a couple of moments.
Riddle is capable of defeating Lashley and having a good run as champion, but we think he’s going to me more the foil than anything in this gauntlet match.
Fracturing Hurt Business
WWE Raw Preview expects Cedric Alexander’s new ego to be what will cost the Hurt Business this gauntlet and possible even the US title for Lashley.
Over the last few weeks, the rift between Alexander and Benjamin has been widening and we think it may come to a head tonight.
Riddle will win out, or at least get to MVP. During the run we expect Alexander to say or do something to cause Benjamin to lose.
We don’t think Benjamin will return the favor since he understands and listens to MVP, but he won’t hesitate to throw out a couple of verbal jabs if Alexander struggles.
When Alexander loses, he’ll get in Benjamin’s face and blame him for it and they’ll go back and forth.
If Alexander wins, he’ll get in Benjamin’s face and taunt him for doing what he couldn’t despite Benjamin not costing him the match.
We can see their argument getting to the point that it hinder MVP in his match and Riddle will manage a victory after all of the punishment he’s gone through.
This will set up a match between Riddle and Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble.
