Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and tonight looks like it’s going to be a fun one with Big E defending the IC title against Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens speaking about Roman Reigns.
We’ll have a fun obstacle course between Bayley and Bianca Belair that’s sure to go sideways as well as plenty of other matches that’ll make their marks.
Time to grab some snacks and get ready to settle in, so WWE Smackdown Live Results will see you all at the 8 p.m. EST showtime.
Segment 1
Roman Reigns came out with Paul Heyman and no Jey Uso. A piped in chorus of “You suck!” greeted Reigns.
Pearce came out and confronted them and refused to take any guff from Heyman. Heyman then challenged him to a match and Pearce accepted.
This is just… yeah.
Oh, and Sami Zayn handcuffed himself to the barricade heading to the ring and said he’s not going anywhere.
Segment 2
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Asuka can Charlottle Flair (c) vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) w/Billie Kay
This started out with Flair in control over Riott, but Billie Kay paid some early dividends to give Morgan an advantage and a pin attempt as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
A better match than we expected, but Kay cost the Riott Squad again by accident as Flair hit Natural Selection on Riott for the win.
Segment 4
Billie Kay was kicked out of the Riott Squad.
Daniel Bryan cut a promo for the Royal Rumble, but Cesaro interrupted him and issued an open challenge to anyone that is in the Rumble.
Dolph Ziggler accepted, so they’ll face off after the commercial break.
Segment 5
Cesaro vs. Dolph Ziggler
This was an awesome technical match that Cesaro won after countering a Famouser into a Neutralizer.
Segment 6
Sasha Banks vs. Reginald w/Carmella
Banks won after hitting a Bank Statement. It was an impressive match from an athletic aspect, but the outcome was never in doubt and neither was knowing Banks wouldn’t take a hit.
More of a time waster to show off Reginald’s skills than anything.
Segment 7
Intercontinental Championship – Big E (c) vs. Apollo Crews
Big E wan by DQ when Zayn unlocked his handcuff and hit a Helluva Kick on Crews, then on Big E.
Whelp, there went one of the few good matches of the night.
Segment 8
The Street Profits tried to bribe Sonya Deville into giving them a rematch for the tag team championship, but she said she can’t as Ford is injured.
She told them to relax and let other teams (what other teams?) have their shot and they’ll get their again.
Segment 9
Obstacle Course – Bayley vs. Bianca Belair
Belair beat Bayley by 17 seconds despite being given a harder course, and Bayley attacked her afterwards.
Segment 10
Dominik Mysterio vs. King Corbin
This was quick as Corbin hit End of Days for the win after Dominik had an early flash.
Segment 11
Adam Pearce vs. Paul Heyman
Heyman tripped over the ring steps twice and played the “Card subject to change” card and Reigns came out.
After Reigns beat on Pearce for a while, Kevin Owens attacked from behind.
Owens eventually hit a couple of stunners and power bombed Reigns through the announce table as the show ended.
The ending gave a dead show life. The only match of note was Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler in an otherwise forgettable night overall.
The effort was there, but it was too many gimmicks in one night for our liking. Hopefully, this was worked out of WWE Creative’s system going into next week.
