WWE Smackdown Results was happy to see that in answer to Bryan’s earlier challenge, Bryan sent Omos to the back as he headed to the ring.
Bryan started it off by putting Styles in a headlock and then dragging him over onto the mat and Styles used a head scissors to get out of the hold.
The pair squared off, and Styles used a headlock to take Bryan over as Michael Cole introduced Cesaro on commentary for this match.
Styles’ insurance policy, maybe?
Bryan bridged out of a pin attempt, and they exchanged monkey flips before Bryan went for an armbar but Styles made it to the ropes to break the hold.
Bryan hit an armbreaker and threw Styles into a corner. Bryan ran into a boot, and hit a drop toe hold and nailed Styles’ injured left arm with a kick.
Bryan went for another arm lock on Styles, but Styles got to his feet and drove Bryan into the corner to break then hold, then locked in a side headlock.
Bryan threw him off the ropes and ate a shoulder block but hit a kick following a leapfrog for a pin attempt.
Bryan continued to work on Styles’ left arm, and Styles grabbed him by the face and backed Bryan into the corner where they broke the hold and Bryan hit a chop.
Styles reversed a whip off the ropes and hit Bryan with a knee to the midsection.
Styles went for a suplex, but Bryan blocked it and hit a double underhook suplex.
Bryan headed to the top rope as Sami Zayn came out.
Styles took advantage of the distraction to knock Bryan off the apron, then throw him into the ring steps as we headed to commercial.
Still even
Back from commercial, the action was back in the ring and Styles was in control after stomping Bryan in a corner.
Styles went for a suplex, but Bryan countered with a shot to the face, then sidestepped a Styles splash in the corner. Bryan hit a chop and then flipped over Styles in a corner and hit a clothesline off the ropes.
Bryan hit a running boot, then hit a couple of kicks before he put Styles on the top rope and flipped him across the ring for a near pinfall.
Styles caught Bryan’s kick and hit a dragon screw, then hung Bryan’s leg in the ropes to hit a step up kick and then a kick to Bryan’s leg.
Styles then locked in the Calf Crusher but Bryan made it to the bottom rope to break the hold.
Bryan hit a step up kick when Styles went for his left leg, and then flipped Styles to the apron when he charged in.
Styles hit a right, and then went for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Bryan caught his arm and hit with a double underhook suplex and slapped on an armbar, then a Yes Lock.
Can’t we just have a great match?
Styles made it to the bottom rope to break the hold.
Of course, Big E had to come out because of Zayn protesting. He headed around the ring toward Zayn and leveled Zayn with a clothesline, and then he threw Zayn across the announce table.
Cesaro got in Big E’s face and shoved him, so Big E shoved him back. Cesaro hit Big E with a boot and slammed him into the announce table.
Styles was outside the ring for whatever reason, then ducked a suicide dive by Bryan, which took out Cesaro and Zayn.
Styles threw Bryan into the ring, and Zayn attacked Bryan from behind and beat him down while Cesaro nailed Big E with some upper cuts and knees as Shinsuke Nakamura came out.
Nakamura ducked a clothesline by Zayn and hit a step up kick, then he dropped Styles with another kick before he and Cesaro came face to face as Cesaro looked like he was going after him.
Zayn then hit Nakamura from behind and sent him into Cesaro. Nakamura then nailed Zayn and turned his attention to Styles.
Big E threw Cesaro to the floor, Bryan threw Zayn to the floor, and Nakamura threw Styles to the floor.
Gimmick match on the way. It’s a shame, WWE Smackdown Results thought this could be the match of the night.
