NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day has come and gone, and already ranks very highly on manys list of the best Takeovers ever. From top to bottom, the action was incredible, but the world is talking about what happened after the main event. Former NXT Champion Adam Cole would superkick Finn Balor, then Kyle O’Reilly. We also have a big announced match in NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar vs. Karrion Kross. Let’s get into what Cole’s motives could be, and more!
Adam Cole Wants The Spotlight Back
As previously mentioned, the biggest story tonight involves Adam Cole. Following the excellent main event of Finn Balor vs. Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch would rush the ring to beat Balor down. Undisputed Era members Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong would make the save, and all get ready to pose as the show faded to black. Until Cole went against the intentions of the Undisputed Era, and superkick Balor.
When O’Reilly confronted Cole, he was laid out as well. Strong was left confused and concerned, as Cole walked off alone. Cole hasn’t been in the spotlight in NXT or The Undisputed Era in quite some time, with O’Reilly having taken off as a singles star through two huge matches with Finn Balor. Anyone who has followed Cole & O’Reilly before NXT knows that they’re great friends, but better rivals, so wherever this leads? The matches are going to be great. We will hopefully get some answers tonight on why Cole did it, and what the future of The Undisputed Era is.
Karrion Kross Hits Hard, But Has Thin Skin
This week will have a big main event involving former NXT Champion Karrion Kross. He might be the hardest hitter the brand has to offer, but has been proven to be rather sensitive to trash talk. We first saw this with Damien Priest, who called out Kross for letting Scarlett do all his talking while he sat in the car. That led to Priest’s final match in NXT, and perhaps the best match Kross has had in the brand. Now, we’re in a similar situation with Kross & Santos Escobar.
About a month ago now, Santos Escobar was hyping himself up as the best champion on NXT. He’d note that he doesn’t have a glass jaw like Finn Balor, any curses like Johnny Gargano, and won the belt without injuring him unlike Karrion Kross. This comment seemed to go unnoticed until Scarlett was ringside for Escobar’s last title defense. Kross laid down the challenge, and Escobar sent Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza to confront him, only to be left laying. Now Escobar himself will face Kross, and prove that he can hang with the heavyweights. Both are undefeated in singles matches on NXT.
Do you think Karrion Kross or Santos Escobar will win the main event? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
