At AEW Revolution, Christian Cage made his debut for the company. The 47 year old was their ‘Hall of Fame Worthy’ signing, and it’s hard to argue that fact. He came back to the ring for WWE at Royal Rumble, but didn’t sign a deal with them. Instead of playing second fiddle to Edge, Christian is back to being the Instant Classic. With the intention to ‘outwork everyone’, he will finally speak tonight to let us know who is first on his list, and after confronting Kenny Omega last week, that might be obvious.
Christian Cage Is In AEW To Cement His Legacy
He’d be interviewed backstage by Dasha, who asked the important question. Why did Christian Cage choose AEW? He’d answer with a rant. There’s a type in the world of wrestling, the men who bust their ass in the ring, and raise everyone’s level when they step into the ring. These are workhorses.
Jon Moxley will even admit that he thought he knew all about professional wrestling before he got into the ring with Christian Cage. But Christian Cage isn’t a workhorse, he is THE workhorse of professional wrestling. If anyone has forgotten how good Christian Cage is over the past seven years, they’re in for a rude awakening.
He’d also address the concerns of young wrestlers who are worried that Christian is after their spots, but he’s only interested in the spot held by Kenny Omega. Omega stole his time last week, but that gave him a chance to meet Omega face to face.
So why is Christian Cage in AEW? He’s here to cement his legacy, win the AEW Championship, and outwork everyone on the way to doing so. It’s going to be an exciting few years for longtime fans of Christian, who clearly has a lot left in the tank and on his bump card. The Instant Classic is truly back.
