During his appearance on the Inside the Ropes podcast, Arn joked about how Big E may have created a whole lot of disappointment amongst the ladies. He said: “Well, number one, I’m certain it went viral, which means that Big E now is responsible for making all those ladies miserable because they got turned down, obviously.
“Cause I am married for 30-something years, 38 I believe happily married for 38 years. So what Big E did was throw me out as bait and no cigar. But I’ve not heard of that.” But Big E has come a long way since then. He has grown in the wrestling scene, which has made him more comfortable in his own skin. And that extends to his personal life, where he has revealed that he is enjoying the single life.
During an appearance on Oral Sessions podcast, he stated how it is easier to be single during his tender years. He said: “It’s a lot easier to say, ‘Oh, I’m single’ when you’re 24 because it’s ok. A lot of people are single when they’re 24. When you’re 34, and you’re a perpetual bachelor, you kind of get weird looks, like, ‘What’s wrong with you?”
However, it is important to note that Big E has suffered a difficult upbringing in which he has spoken on suffering from a lack of attachment (attachment theory). This is the idea of having no bond with your parents that, in turns, causes you to become independent without relying on others. Big E went on to explain why this has made him feel comfortable in being alone.
He revealed: “When you don’t have your emotional needs met as a small child, you tend to, just like, ‘Hey, I can meet my own needs.’ That explains why I am perpetually alone, and I genuinely like being alone. I don’t sit at home and pine to be around people all the time. I’m an introvert by nature. I have no idea how I ended up as an entertainer.”
