This has the potential to be a very good match depending on the direction they take, and Impact Wrestling Preview can’t wait to see what they have planned.
Since returning to Impact Wrestling, Trey’s had to deal with Callihan constantly waiting in the shadows to mock him and claim Trey doesn’t have the heart or drive to stick around.
Especially if things go bad for him. Callihan even went so far as to claim the other Rascalz ditched him when they went to the WWE without him.
The turning point came when Callihan went to Trey’s school and attacked the students and staff there before he seemingly “befriended” his best student.

Callihan poisoned the student’s mind to the point the student challenged Trey to a match last week, and after a reluctant Trey won, Callihan hit a package piledriver to send a message.
It looks like the message was received as they have a match tonight, but this is a far different Trey that returned than what left.
He’s had an edge and aggressiveness that wasn’t there before, and he even went after Callihan a couple of weeks back and that seemed to trigger Callihan’s visit to his school.
This should be a fun mix of styles that’ll make the match an interesting one as Callihan looks to warp Trey into joining him to replace Ken Shamrock.
We don’t think Trey will join him, but then we didn’t see Deaner turning on Jake Something. Still, we expect Trey to with this match and be attacked afterwards. This feud is far from over.
New faction
While it makes sense that Callihan could be looking to reinvent OvW, we think it’s something more along the lines of him just wanting a partner in crime to be his muscle and take the heat when things go wrong.
We saw a similar situation with Ken Shamrock when Callihan awakened the old Shamrock whose temper used to snap constantly in a match and he’d end up mauling his opponent and losing by DQ.
Trey’s a different animal without the Rascalz there to help balance him, as he’s become more aggressive and focused like we mentioned above.
That hasn’t led to more success per se, but his matches have had a definite uptick in the hard hitting aspects and not so much where he takes a ton of abuse between hitting big moves.
It feels like a slight change, but it goes deeper than that. He reinvented himself and because he’s alone it makes him the perfect target for Callihan to try to manipulate.
Will Callihan succeed in twisting another mind into working for him or will Trey continue taking the fight to him instead of accepting Callihan as the one?
