Over the past few weeks, Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari have been back to their gatekeeping ways on 205 Live. Their latest targets are Jake Atlas & August Grey, with Grey having picked up a singles win over Nese last week thanks to Atlas isolating Daivari at ringside. Tonight, they finally get this issue settled in a good ol’ tag team grudge match.
Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari Have Top Tier Chemistry
Grey would start alongside Daivari, and be quickly taken down with a leg trip before Daivari walked along his back. Daivari was trying to get Grey riled up, and tagged in Nese who took Grey to the mat. Nese would end up in a hammerlock instead, but a distraction from Daivari let Nese break free with a punch. Daivari & Nese would corner Grey and work together with quick tags to isolate him, but lost him on a double suplex attempt.
Atlas got the tag and took down both opponents with a double clothesline, and dropped Daivari with a quick neckbreaker. Nese went Atlas to the apron, where Atlas would launch Daivari to the floor and hit Nese with the gamiguri. Atlas was ready to end it all with the Rainbow DDT, but Daivari helped to save his partner.
Daivari would take Atlas down with a kick to the gut and a running dropkick to the jaw, only for Atlas to come back and level Daivari with a lariat. Daivari got the tag from Nese, who literally ran over Atlas to take away the tag option of Grey. Nese hit a bulldog to get a near fall, before applying a tight waistlock.
August Grey & Jake Atlas Show Tag Team Potential
Atlas would break free from the waistlock, go for a sunset flip, and while Nese rolled through, Atlas dodged the spin kick. He’d hit the mule kick on Nese and Grey got the tag! Grey came in with a running hurricanrana and big lariat, before taking a cheap shot at Daivari. Nese was hit with a release back suplex, Grey getting a two count.
Daivari came into the ring, and Grey almost hit So Much Prettier before Nese helped him counter. Nese nailed the Bastard Driver, and Atlas broke the pin at two with a pump kick. Atlas would dump Daivari to the outside and nail the dive, but Nese got a two for one special as he hit Grey with a hotshot and landed the vaulting body press on Atlas.
Nese missed the springboard moonsault, and took a superkick from Grey. Grey went to the second rope, but Nese came in with the shotei palm strike. Nese wanted the running powerslam, but Grey countered and set up So Much Prettier for the win.
