It’s time for another episode of NXT. We’re on the road to NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver, the first ever two night NXT Takeover event. Slots will be filling up quickly, and tonight we will see the card start to take form. We have two confirmed matches for tonight, with Dexter Lumis taking on Austin Theory and LA Knight making his in-ring debut. Let’s break those down, as well as what was announced last week on NXT.
Dexter Lumis Takes On Austin Theory
At NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day, Dexter Lumis kidnapped Austin Theory. The Way would do their best to find him, but only got Theory back when Lumis dropped him off in the parking lot in a dirty white van. Theory claims that his time with Lumis was great, just two bros hanging out.
However, Johnny Gargano stuck a wedge in this potential friendship, by paying off a therapist, and convincing Theory that Lumis hates him. This is a truly unpredictable match, as who knows what Lumis is actually planning.
LA Knight Makes His In Ring Debut
At NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day, LA Knight made his way to NXT. Formerly known as Eli Drake, this slick talker has done just that since coming to the brand; talk. However, the time for talk is over, and Knight will make his long awaited NXT TV debut. Most fans forget that this is his second stint in the company, formerly being known as Slate Randall. He was released before making it to TV, so tonight is extra special for LA Knight.
Jordan Devlin Is Back
It’s fitting that St. Patricks Day signals the return of The Irish Ace to NXT. The real Cruiserweight Champion has been stuck over in the UK since early 2020, and the lousy weather will get anyone down. So Devlin is on his way to NXT, and has an issue to pick up with Santos Escobar, the interim Cruiserweight Champion. Devlin is back tonight, and will have a lot to say.
Announced last week on NXT were two matches, which as of the time of writing have not been confirmed on social media. These were Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher taking on Imperium, and Leon Ruff taking on Isiah ‘Swerve’ Scott. What are you most excited for tonight on NXT?
