Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza have made a target out of Breezango ever since they disrespected the legacy of lucha libre, an issue which carries through into tonight. Breezango have another chance to shut up Legado Del Fantasma, as they meet them in tag team action. LDF have the NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Santos Escobar in their corner, but he’s got Jordan Devlin on the mind.
Breezango Are All Business Tonight
Breezango would be all business tonight, no flashy entrance, just two veterans ready to prove a point. Fandango would start with Mendoza, and hit big lariats on both him and Wilde. He’d drop Mendoza onto the top rope before tagging in Breeze, before both men hit big boots to the head.
Breeze would take a knee to the head from Mendoza, before Wilde tagged in. Wilde would get tripped up and almost had his legs tied around the steel post, but slipped away. Fandango got the tag, but was unable to regain control of the match.
He’d hit a hard irish whip into the corner, and go up top. Mendoza met him on the top rope, and kicked him in the head. We’d go to a commercial break, with LDF on top.
Jordan Devlin Brings The Real NXT Cruiserweight Championship Home
Coming back from the break, Fandango threw Mendoza over the barricade before tagging Tyler Breeze. He’d nail a dropkick on Wilde, before taking Mendoza out of the ring. Breeze quickly applied a single leg crab that’d make Lance Storm blush. Wilde couldn’t quite make the ropes, but was able to counter out before being thrown over the top rope.
Mendoza took out Fandango on the outside, before attacking Breeze in the ring. Breeze tried to sneak an unprettier on Wilde, before missing a blind tag to Mendoza. LDF would set up the finish, and quickly dropped Breeze.
After the match, Escobar would call out Devlin, who gladly showed up. He’d take the ring, and tell Escobar to take a nice long look as this is what a champion looks like. Devlin doesn’t need stooges to do his dirty work, doesn’t need to attack from behind. Escobar should just throw his title in the trash, because the real title is back, no need to be filling in any more.
However, Escobar has raised this division to new heights, taking the NXT Cruiserweight Championship to Takeover. Devlin should wrap up his commitments in the UK, and come back for a unification match at Takeover. Escobar was met with a headbutt and Devil-Inside Suplex, left bloody and embarrassed.
