Meiko Satomura was unable to claim the NXT UK Women’s Championship from Kay Lee Ray, despite a fantastic effort on her part. She’s not giving up though, and tonight she will face the promising powerhouse rookie of Dani Luna.
Satomura is going to help push the NXT UK Women’s roster to new heights, and someone like Luna could benefit from getting to work with her for sure. If Luna could manage to win this match, the biggest of her career, it would skyrocket her career.
Dani Luna Shows She Is No Pushover
Satomura started off strong with a leg kick, before dodging one back from Luna who dashed in with a big boot. She was able to catch the next kick from Satomura, and shove her off. Luna blocked a single leg takedown attempt, before taking Satomura to the mat with a waist lock takedown.
Satomura gained control with a side headlock, Luna trying to roll into a pinfall but Satomura kicked out and maintained control of the hold. Luna would get vertical for a moment, and drove Satomura into the corner. Satomura had to fight the power of Luna when the test of strength was initiated.
Thankfully she was able to fall back on technique, opting for a judo style throw to take Luna down. Luna would end up in another headlock, and try to power out with a suplex. Satomura let the hold go, but only to batter Luna in the corner with some strikes. Luna was dropped with an uppercut, but managed to kick out at two.
Meiko Satomura Will Never Back Down From A Fight
Satomura was hit with a suplex and fallaway slam by Luna, only to come back with a spinning heel kick. Luna stopped Satomura from going to the top rope with a forearm strike, having the frog splash scouted. Satomura was sent to the apron, and Luna pulled her into the ring with a superplex.
Luna got a near fall after a lariat, and kept the pressure on with an attempt at the German Suplex. Satomura found out with an overhead kick, before the mid-kick and scorpio rising for the win. This puts Satomura to a respectable 2-1 record in NXT UK, and could help put her back on pace for another shot at Kay Lee Ray.
