WWE Smackdown Results expect this to be a good match as the winner will be the special enforcer in Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan’s Universal Championship at WWE Fastlane.
To add more spice to an end of the night scrum, Bryan was at the announce table.
Edge and Jey locked up and Edge rolled him over for a quick pin attempt.
Jey locked in a side headlock, and Edge reversed it. Jey sent him into the ropes and Edge hit a Shoulder block, then went for a crossface but Jey made it to the ropes to break the hold.
Edge hit a couple of strikes and some knee lifts before hitting a knee from behind and wrapping Jey’s left arm around the bottom rope.
He then went to an armbar but Jey hit with an elbow to break the hold and Edge slid to the floor, favoring his ribs.
Jey followed him to the floor but Edge caught him with an elbow and tried to slam Jey into the announce table.
Jey blocked the move and threw Edge into the ring steps, then Jey hit a suicide dive to drive Edge into the announce table as we headed to commercial.
Jey takes over
Back from commercial, they’re back in the ring and Jey stomped on Edge’s back. Edge hit with a left and right, and Jey dropped him with a right and then draped Edge over the top ropes.
Jey knocked Edge off the apron with a right forearm and followed him out. Jey picked him up and rolled Edge into the ring and stomped Edge’s neck.
Jey locked in a front face lock and then slid him along the mat and into the ring post ribs first. Jey then grabbed his arm and pulled him into the post more.
Edge hit a forearm and a right, but Jey hit in him the ribs and followed it with a step up kick to the ribs.
Jey headed to the top rope but Edge avoided in and Jey landed on his feet. Edge hit with an attempted forearm but locked more like they hit each other with a crossbody.
Edge then hit Jey with a big boot and slammed Jey into the turnbuckle shoulder first. He then hit a knee off the middle rope to Jey’s left shoulder and went for a pin attempt.
Jey headbutted Edge’s midsection and followed it with a Samoan Drop and a pin attempt.
Jey them went to the top rope and Edge caught him with a right and hit a hurricanrana for a near pinfall.
Edge then blocked Jey’s superkick and hit a DDT but couldn’t take advantage of it, so he set up for a spear.
Jey countered the spear with a superkick and hit a Uso Splash but couldn’t pin Edge right away, and Edge kicked out when he managed to roll him over.
Edge slammed Jey into the mat by his shoulder and hit a spear for the win.
Scrum ahead
This was a good match and it’s a shame it ended when it did. This could’ve gone for 30 minutes and still be a fun one to watch.
Edge celebrated and turned into a spear by Roman Reigns, and Reigns challenged Bryan to tap him out now.
Bryan got to his feet and Jey attacked him from the side and threw him into the ring where Reigns hit a spear and stood over Bryan.
Whelp, we predicted Reigns would stand tall after a scrum in our previews and the WWE didn’t disappoint.
