This week on AEW Dynamite, we will see Darby Allin defend the TNT Championship against Miro in what is being looked at by fans as when his reign finally ends. Miro is determined to become a champion, and Darby Allin is coming into the match with a potentially injured shoulder. Despite this, Allin is keen to fight until the bitter end, which fans expected. After Miro would hype this match up as “The man who doesn’t mind dying meets the man who doesn’t mind killing him” on Dynamite, Allin would fire back over Twitter.
Darby Allin Might Regret Calling Out Miro Like This…
After AEW made a graphic mirroring that phrase, Allin would be quick to reply and properly provoke Miro. He’d say the following. “You say Darby’s this & Darby’s that. I know exactly who I am. Do you know who you are Miro? You show up the hottest free agent just to talk about video games and be some best man. You’ve gotta be the most underwhelming thing I’ve seen. You ain’t taking shit away from me.”
This is echoing the sentiment of some AEW fans, who really haven’t been impressed with Miro yet in AEW. His tag team antics with Kip Sabian didn’t go anywhere, and couldn’t even see Miro take Sabian out in a match, after Sabian got injured. Miro came into AEW with a lot of hype after being ‘mis-used’ in WWE as Rusev, but has failed to show much potential.
Finally Hitting His Stride In AEW?
It’s hard to defend his character up to this point, but following Arcade Anarchy, everything seemed to click. We now have a pissed off Miro who simply wants to be recognized as a champion, a much more simple to understand character that fits Miro better than him being displayed as a C-Tier Twitch Streamer.
It could take just one excellent match to change the perception of Miro in the eyes of AEW fans, and Darby Allin might just be the one to give it to him. This one is reaching a fever pitch despite a short build, and could steal the show next week on an episode containing Jon Moxley vs. Yuji Nagata, SCU vs. The Young Bucks, and Orange Cassidy vs. PAC. But also, this one could end very quickly if Miro gets his way.
Do you see this being the end of Darby Allin as TNT Champion, or have AEW made this result too obvious? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
