Professional wrestling has so many names and iconic figures through the decades that it’s hard to keep track of all of them, and others are often unsung legends like Al Snow.
Most of us may currently know him as the owner of OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) and the accredited wrestling school that teaches the behind the scenes management as well as the in ring work.
It’s an awesome concept and one that’ll be a legacy that will be remembered for many years to come.
Then there are those of us that know him from his ECW days with Head as his strange and captivating gimmick, and then as head trainer on the WWE’s reality series Tough Enough.
Al Snow has had as storied a career as any in the business, and it all started with his first official match on May 22, 1982.
On his Instagram, he went into more detail.
“On May 22nd 1982 in Springfield, OH I had my first professional wrestling match. It was 20 man 2 ring Battle Royal.
“39 years later 5 different decades and I’ve never regretted a single day of it.
“I’ve been blesses to do what I have loved to do and even more grateful being involved with Ohio Valley Wrestling to this very day.
“Thank you to everyone for allowing me to live an adventure and my dream.”
Al Snow changed the landscape of wrestling in many ways that aren’t the most visible, as AAW Pro commented on his post.
“The roots of our company trace back to you as you trained our owner Danny Daniels for his wrestling career which eventually lead him to promote and for that we truly thank you! Congrats on your amazing career!”
More to come
It’s been great seeing what Snow has accomplished throughout his career, and it looks like there’s plenty more ahead for him and us and we can’t wait.
The future looks bright, and it’s being born from a past and present of hard work and dedication.
Thank you for your 39 years, Mr. Snow, and we hope there are plenty more to come. We can’t wait.
