Not every tag team is destined for success when put together. Amir Jordan & Kenny Williams came close to winning the NXT UK Tag Team Championship when they finally got their shot against Pretty Deadly, before Kenny Williams got fed up with Jordan not wanting to cheat. They’d split during the match, when Williams smacked Jordan with one of the title belts, before Williams cheated to win the following one on one match. Tonight, he won’t have to cheat as it’s No DQ, and whoever loses? They’re gone from NXT UK, as this is a Loser Leaves Town Match!
This Brand Is Only Big Enough For One Of These Men…
Amir Jordan wasn’t dancing or anything on his way to the ring, before getting ready to lock up with Williams. Williams forced Jordan into the corner but allowed a clean break. Jordan hit some quick strikes before a roll up getting a two count, before whipping Williams into the corner hard. Williams kicked the hurt shoulder of Jordan, before tying it up in the ropes and kicking away at the isolated limb.
Jordan would fight off a cross armbreaker attempt, before being taken to the outside and hit with an arm wrench to the floor. Williams grabbed a steel chair, and whacked Jordan with it. He’d grab a tool box and ponder what’s inside. Jordan was put on the top rope, before Williams took a seat and told him that he always hated his guts. With a steel turnbuckle support in hand, he’d look to gouge Jordan, who was able to counter and get free.
A dive to the outside took Williams down, but Jordan was quickly thrown shoulder first into the steel ring-post. Williams pulled up the padding at ringside, before looking for the bulldog driver onto concrete. Jordan blocked, but was thrown into the barricade. Williams rushed in and was sent over, before Jordan joined him.
Kenny Williams Shows That He Is Ready To Go Further
They’d brawl through BT Sports studio, with Jordan slamming a travel case into Williams. Williams used a fire extinguisher to stun Jordan, before dropping him through a table with a backdrop. Dragging Jordan back to the ring, Williams set up and nailed a PK for a two count.
Williams exposed a turnbuckle, and sent Jordan shoulder first into it before nailing a facebuster in the ring, getting another two count. They’d go to the apron over by the exposed floor, where Williams nearly got a powerbomb. Jordan wiggled free and hit a suplex onto the floor. He’d get Williams into the ring, before going for the Senton Bomb for the two count.
Jordan set up the chair, and slammed Williams face into it. He’d go up top but Williams threw the chair at him and trapped him up. Bulldog driver onto the chair, and Williams got the win. Amir Jordan is now gone from NXT UK.
This storyline and match tried to be much better than it actually was. It was a fine platform to showcase a fresh new heel Kenny Williams, but neither man really sold the animosity you’d expect in a loser leaves town match. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
