Miro is off to an impressive start as TNT Champion. He defeated Darby Allin for the title while Allin was still at the top of his game, then notched two quick defenses against Dante Martin & Lance Archer. Tonight, he will look to make his third defense as he takes on Evil Uno of The Dark Order. Uno was given this shot by John Silver, who felt it was time for another member of Dark Order to make an attempt to reclaim the belt their Exalted One once held.
Miro is bigger, stronger and undefeated, but Evil Uno has perfect motivation and the skills to be the one to finally beat him. Evil Uno is fine with anyone of the Dark Order taking the TNT Championship home, but selfishly? He wants it to be him. Evil Uno wants Mr. Brodie Lee, his old friend, to look down at him and be proud. Many have looked past Evil Uno, and have paid for it. Will Miro be next?
Miro Dominates Evil Uno
Miro would shove Evil Uno into the corner on their first lock up, but allowed the clean break. Evil Uno would be taken down to the mat with a front headlock, Miro only letting him up for a body slam. Some quick strikes would punish Evil Uno, before he’d annoy Miro with some chops before outsmarting him and sending him to the outside. A rolling senton off the apron would take Miro down, but back in the ring Evil Uno would find himself on the middle rope.
Miro yanked him down into a suplex, before throwing him across the ring with a second. Evil Uno would be trapped in the corner and beaten down with some well placed kicks. Miro was picking apart Evil Uno with ease, and would apply a crossarm clutch to try and choke Uno out with his own arms. Evil Uno would fire up but take a dropkick to the jaw from Miro, and was sent to the apron.
Dark Order Inspires A Big Comeback
Miro would send him off the apron into the barricade, and Stu Greyson and Alan Angels would come to motivate Uno to get back in the ring before the twenty count. Greyson would be taken out by Evil Uno, before Angels ran to the back as Miro threw a turnbuckle pad at him. Evil Uno was given time to recover, and would hit a running hurricanrana and two lariats in the corner.
A big boot took Miro down, and Evil Uno slipped to the top rope for a senton bomb. The rest of Dark Order including -1 would be here to cheer on Uno, who would stomp on the hands of Miro before shoving him into the exposed buckle for a two count! Evil Uno was close, and he’d go for the Discuss Lariat, but Miro absorbed it and fired back with a lariat of his own. Game Over was applied, and Evil Uno had no choice but to tap out.
Evil Uno gave a fantastic babyface performance in this match, with him truly getting the fans behind him by the end. Miro likewise played the heel role perfectly, and has truly hit his stride in AEW. Match Rating: 3.25/5 (*** 1/4)
